For a few weeks now I have needed some extra heating in my house again (that time of year again) so I have joined my render machine up to some projects. I have not been able to get any tasks from MW while the others are working fine. Here is my log output: 7/21/2016 7:57:16 AM | Milkyway@Home | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 7/21/2016 7:57:16 AM | Milkyway@Home | Requesting new tasks for AMD/ATI GPU 7/21/2016 7:57:18 AM | Milkyway@Home | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks https://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=12302269 http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/show_host_detail.php?hostid=697011 |

I have updated to the most recent stable AMD drivers as linked below: If I click on your pc's it does list any driver being recognized, maybe that's the problem, did you do the Beta sometimes MW is not a good place for them. |

I have "If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?" ticked so I should get ANY tasks if they are available :( On the prefs_edit.php page there is a server warning being printed though: "Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /boinc/milkyway/html/project/project_specific_prefs.inc on line 660". I am running a fresh, 1.5 month old, install of windows 10 (fresh not upgrade) with the latest AMD drivers. I cannot see any reason why there would be issues, and why they would seem to be only occurring with MW :( |

By your Computer line, I'm guessing you have an AMD RX 480, right? For whatever reason the last few generations of AMD cards just do not detect properly on this project. I tried using the app_info posted in one of these threads here last night, and after the first few WUs completed properly, the... oh, 900 WUs since have all been invalid or inconclusive, so I've given up. I had an R9 290X before this and I could never get that working right here either, sadly. Maybe one of these fine folks can give you a current app_info.xml file and the download links for the current apps. Edit: I see Hawaii, I think that was the R9 2xx or 3xx line, correct? Or were those Tahiti? I can never remember, lol. |

I knew it was one of them that doesn't detect right, lol. Hopefully someone will help you get a app_info.xml running for your card so you can do some science! I love this project, but my better card I just can't get going. Best of luck to you! |

Hi all, Yeah I have a R9 390 and it didn't work with this project either. I was given a app_info.xml and it worked up until a few weeks ago. Now all my WU's are invalid or inconclusive. Sadly no one has been able to help with a working app_info.xml file. Dirk has been trying to help but I can't get his app_info.xml to work for me. I've spoken to Jake and mentioned this issue about the newer cards back in Nov 2015 but he hasn't resolved it yet. Guess I'll just have to crunch other projects. My old R9 280x with the Tahiti GPU worked, its the Hawaii that doesn't work. |
