I'm no kind of boffin, but I'll take a chance that it's OK to post two experiences with MilkyWay@Home here.

1. MilkyWay@Home tasks continue to use CPU while suspended. In my case, that's usually 6 tasks using 75% of CPU time, the same as when tasks are active. Shutting down the BOINC Manager has no effect on these zombie tasks (which can be seen still running in the Windows 10 Task Manager).

2. Tasks for the application "MilkyWay@Home N-Body Simulation 1.62 (mt)" get stuck and never end. An example line in BOINC Manager looks like this: Progress 0.015%; Elapsed 01:56:52; Remaining ---. Once stuck, the Progress reading will never change. Aborting that task is the only way to allow other tasks to proceed.
