I watched several 1.42 WU's before I disabled downloads... Seems they run all on CPU and don't use the GPU at all! They take 4000 seconds more or less and do in fact complete, but no GPU activity is seen. Is it my drivers or something? This on a Win 10 setup with 280X board. Help! 8-) |

Same here with an AMD 7870XT under Win10 There's some intermittent GPU work every now and then but only at a very low percentage of the WU run time. |

Hello, There are a few problems with the new work units. Jake is looking at it but he also has been working long hours to optimize the systems. Give him a little time and he will resolve the problems. Thanks |

AMD 6 core 1090 Win7 with 280x Same problem here. I disabled CPU crunching project and only let Milkyway use GPU and 5 CPU's. It seems to ignore the GPU and use just a little CPU, but make my pc very laggy with some freezes from time to time.... Set it to nnw and reset the project. Sorry wingmen.....! I sit it out and wait for Jake to sort this out. |

I have the same issue on 2 different machines. One has a AMD R9 280 and the other an NVidia GTX 1060. When Milkyway is running a work unit that has a GPU "component" i.e. it says its going to use the GPU I monitor my GPU workload (using Open Hardware Monitor) and the GPU is doing nothing. I've also used GPU-Z to monitor and confirmed its not doing anything. Both Einstein and Collatz use the GPUs fine. If I can help with anything just let me know. Thanks, Grant. |

I'll keep an eye on this and further WU changes. I also very much prefer GPU workloads for MW@H as I have two Titan Black cards FP64 double precision optimized, one of the main reasons I choose to crunch for MW@H as I feel these cards can do more good here. I've been slacking a little bit more recently – this computer had been holding within the top 10 and sometimes top 5 performing host systems for MW@H for several months – but I've been messing more with other 3D applications outside of BOINC. This is the first BOINC project I started crunching for and I'd rather not go back to GPUGrid as it can't take advantage of the double precision optimization of my graphics cards, the one thing they really excel at to this day over other "consumer" cards. Thanks, and best of luck. |
