Hi fellow crunchers,

I am currently considering buying a new GPU to replace my Geforce 750TI.
One of my key requirements is a low TDP (< 80W) since electricity is pretty expensive where I live and my machine runs 24/7.
After some research, I came across the following two AMD cards:
AMD Radeon Pro WX 4100
AMD Radeon Pro WX 5100

When compared to my Geforce 750 TI (from Palit), the stats look like this:
750 TI: 1600 GFLOPS (SP), 50 GFLOPS (DP), 60W TDP
WX 4100: 2000 GFLOPS (SP), 125 FLOPS (DP), 50W TDP
WX 5100: 4000 GFLOPS (SP), 250 GFLOPS (DP), 75W TDP

Obviously, the WX 5100 delivers the most computational power, especially 5 times more DP, which should be pretty important for MW.
But even the 4100 would deliver twice as much DP performance as my 750TI while using less electricity at the same time.
Since those are "professional" cards, they cost twice as much as "ordinary" AMD 460 / AMD 470 cards. However, their TDP is significantly lower:
120W (AMD 470) vs. 75W (WX 5100) abd 75W (AMD 460) vs. 50W (WX4100).
Thus, after less than 1.5 years of crunching, the higher price has already armortized at 27 (€)-cents per KWh

Is anyone crunching MW on a 4100 or 5100 and could tell me about their experiences regarding energy consumption, heating, etc.?

Actually it would be much more cost-efficient to get HD7870XT or higher from this series.
If you would go for HD78XX instead of HD79XX, remember about XT. Normal HD7870 is weak at DP.
Also remember that TDP doesnt mean power consumption directly. Especially that these standard video cards are made for video games, so they dont run at their max potential when making calculations for boinc. I.e. my gtx1070 when used for boinc its using (according to HWMonitor) at most 53% power. While durin gaming its almost 80%. Thats why some of these professional cards have lower TDP. And if electricity bill would be still too high - you still get more credit for using these gpu not 24/7.
