The cards look like absolute DP beasts, according to Wikipedia the integrated graphics on Tiger lake have 1.2gf DP performance, my 3090 only has 0.5gf. If the numbers are correct it looks like these cards are better perf per watt than a Radeon VII when the discrete ones are out (supposed to be 30w). |

I'm sure it all depends on all available resources. Both available hardware for testing and personnel to develop new applications. There are already discrete Xe DG1 cards announced but they will not be available at retail. Keep in mind that Nvidia isn't all that in terms of DP performance. In terms of raw DP (FP64) performance AMD has far better offerings. Right tool for the job and all :) |
