I have 42 work units that validation inconclusive and 16 work units validation pending both with a reason of unable to handle request. These have been in my account since the project was shut down for a couple of days. Will they ever be cleared out of my account?

No. Those WU are lost and disconnected from the database. Everyone has some now when the servers had issues. They will hang around forever unless the project admins do a complete flush of the database and start anew.

Will this cause problems when the new task/WU IDs reach the lost old ones?

That would have to be a LOT of new work to wrap around to the beginning to cause such an issue. Also I'm sure that the admins will note the lost work unit ID's and make an exclusion table when the database wraps around to those values.

Or they could do as I suggest and simply wipe the database and start fresh anew.

Thanks for the suggestions, this thread has been noted.

We are considering wiping the database and starting fresh at some point, although it isn't clear how long it will be until that happens. It won't be anytime soon, in any rate.
