What that mean validation no inclusive? It means waiting on your wingman to get credit for the task |

I means inconclusive results. Excuse me for my bad english. No problem you speak better English than I do French!! There are two kinds of results for tasks here that essentially mean the same thing: Validation pending (4) · Validation inconclusive (10) They both mean waiting for your wingman, which is just someone else running the exact same task and hopefully coming up with the same result. IF that wingman's numbers are not close enough to your result than it will be sent to a 3rd, 4th etc computer until they get one close enough to the expected result. Boinc has a way for the Projects to do something to the tasks before we get them to give an expected result, not the actual result but something in the range, when a computer sends back a task that is out of that range of expected result than it can be considered faulty and the result is thrown out and the task will be considered invalid. |

Has the time increased in waiting for results I have tasks that have been waiting for 12 days so far to be validated/failed, two of them total 147,000 seconds. |

I can see that there are over 2 Million tasks awaiting for the validator something would seem to be wrong ? |

I agree that something is wrong; a validator is off-line, pending validations are piling up, and my RAC is plummeting. Is the MW staff looking into this? |

I restarted the validator and it looks like it's staying up for the moment. It's possible that there's a problem with my recent patch to the validator... I'll have to dig through some log files when I get back to the office (I am currently traveling). Hopefully this didn't impact anyone too much. I'll make sure to bring this to Eric's attention so he can keep an eye on things while I'm not available. |

Noticed that the validator went down again. I restarted the entire server this time instead of just the validator process. If it goes down again I will probably swap the old validator back in temporarily until I can fix things. That would mean that there will be a very high failure rate on the validations (like there were before the fix), but at least there will be a working validator in the meantime before I can get back to NY and look at things more carefully. |

Looks like it crashed again after failing to come up. I will swap the old validator back in and make a news post. EDIT: The old validator crashed too, which makes sense based on the explanation given in the news post. I swapped the new validator back in. |

Hi, I have 199 completed inconclusive jobs open. When I look at them with the status ( Completed, validation inconclusive), it is because a part of the job we are waiting for is Unsent . (340938709 --- --- --- Unsent) Is this part going to be sent? Or what is the meaning of this status? computer time and no credits ??? Maybe someone can look in to this. |
