Let us know if you have any problems with v0.8. This should run a bit faster and the memory leak issue should be fixed.

Is it still okay to continue using the opt. app. that you said was close enough? It is based on v0.7, I think.

I don't see why not. It is only minor differences (I believe), not a whole different calculation. Mainly to fix the memory leaks.
Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected?
If it makes sense, DON'T do it.

./milkyway_0.8_i686-pc-linux-gnu: No such file or directory

file milkyway_0.8_i686-pc-linux-gnu

milkyway_0.8_i686-pc-linux-gnu: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.9, not stripped

Looks like linux is the culprit. I'm removing v0.8 for linux until we figure out what's wrong.

The 64-bit version is bad as well:

milkyway_0.8_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.6.9, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), not stripped

Is it still okay to continue using the opt. app. that you said was close enough? It is based on v0.7, I think.

I would say so as the memory leak issue and the low precision of the checkpoint files are already fixed in my SSE3 version I linked here.

If there are no further important changes, I think there is no reason not to use my optimized version.
