Oh, I just love that glass door! reminds me of..... ...reminds you of what..? ;-) Heres another two photos I posted in the Coconut-thread, Its inside the Sognefjord - the next longest fjord in the world - and the Deepest. It goes way into the country - and these photos are taken about 1/4 in, I`ll say. Still its long way from the coast. Aye, Its Not the coast. ;-) Heres a map showing Sognefjorden. Its located in Sogn og Fjordane area, and it stretches 205 km inland. maximum depth of 1,308 m below sea level; the greatest depths are found some way inland. The average width of the main branch of the Sognefjord is about 4 and a half km. Cliffs surrounding the fjord rise almost sheer from the water to heights of 1000m and more. The inner end of Sognefjord is localized southeast of a mountain range rising to about 2,000 m above sea level and covered by Jostedalsbreen, continental Europe's largest Glacier. Thus the climate of the inner end of Sognefjord and its branches is not as wet as on the outer coastline. Around this inner end, three of Norway's famous stave churches have survived. - Read more if you wish - ;-) |

You might recognise these scenes, Moon, as my house, unlike yours, has streetview. :D Apologies for currenttly unavailable pics. I blame it all on Flikr. If I type the flickr-supplied urls into ie I get the photos, so maybe flickr is angry with this board atm. Unless I screwed up the BBCode for inserting imgs again... I wouldn't think I did because I googled for it before writing the post. Cheers, PeterV . |
