There's the right way, the wrong way, and the Scarecrow way.

The Scarecrow way:

1) Open boingmgr

2) Fill a 2 quart pitcher with your favorite beer

3) Slurp aforementioned beer through a straw until pitcher is empty
( best effect achieved if you don't come up for air)

4) Sit firmly in computer chair and spin clockwise FOUR times

5) Check the tasks tab in boincmgr

6) You might have some work

7) You might not, but you won't care

( Steps 2 thru 4 can be repeated if you're able )

Hehe.. You are right. This works absolutely fantastic -
whooot? If ive tried it already? ehrm.. Who - me? ;-))

Well this is what I've found, at least steps 1 to 3.
Then I think about step 4, and think about special mouse-clicks, check step 5 and restart from step 2.

4) Sit firmly in computer chair and spin clockwise FOUR times

If you're in the southern hemisphere you need to spin counter-clockwise.
(I got quite dizzy before I figured this out)

Would this depend if you're right- or left-handed too?

I recall the precessional chair experiment in college where steel weights were bolted to a bike wheel in different places and a student sitting on a swivelchair held it at an angle, speeds were measured with stroboscope and stopwatch.
Would this work bolting a laptop to the apparatus?

>precessional chair

You'd have to run on batteries and use a wireless connection else the cables would get tangled. :)
Cheers,

Well, my (very) old laptop probably weighs more than the steel weights!

I think there is a little animal sitting inside the computer..
..and that little stranger amuses himself by giving crunchers
wu`s only from those projects we DONT ask any from.. Nice

Not at all. I'm going to start cycling now and using my car less so I can afford to keep my pong pump running 24/7. The little fishes just love it ;)
