I just installed it on my Quad, the driver crashed 2 times in a row while crunching.

Needless to say, I have removed it and am reinstalling 9.5 as that worked just fine.

Guess i'm a bit behind...
Still using 8.12 with a 4850 here (xp32)
Any reason for change it? Host run for weeks stable, no crash or video issues.

I am running Win 7-64 on my system.

If what you are running works for you, stick with it.

I'm sticking with 8.12 on all my machines until CP releases a client made in Catalyst 9.2+. Only reason for upgrading would be if you use the machine for gaming also.

Me too - I play a vicious game of hearts.
I'm sticking with 8.12 until I find a higher-numbered version of CCC that will run CP's app. Which is essentially what borandi said...
Cheers,

Not saying you didn't. Didn't say it was a bad thing either.

I've split funds to have a gaming machine with an nVidia card, and a couple of crunchers with ATi cards. Though to be fair when MW work was low, the ATi cards in crossfire at stock speeds outperformed the nVidia on a 27% overclock. Still awaiting the 2010 Codemasters F1 game though... In the meantime some FarCry 2 and HAWX will have to do - as well as the odd Commander Keen:

Nice one, hehe... Commander Keen. Anyone guesses what game my avatar is from?

I'm still using 8.12 and am happy with it.

I had a similar experience. 9.6 isn't ready for crunching duty but fortunately 9.5 seems to work pretty well.

i have same problems with 9.4 9.5 and 9.6 :(. Always getting VPU errors (and losing wu). But I like to play...so I can't revert to 8.12! I will wait for newer catalyst...i hope they will fix it. I'm on XP32 + 4870.Or I will upgrade to Seven 64bit...after summer..so I will solve my problems (i hope..)

The highest version I got to work under XP32 or XP64 was Cat 9.2. All higher versions appear to have stability issues with GPGPU applications and WinXP, but work under Vista.

I am having all kinds of driver issues under Win 7 suddenly.
9.5 would crash the system, bluescreen it.
9.6 is having constant driver shutdown/restarts shutting off the computations.

It was running for months on end with out issues now suddenly a crap load of them.
