When I installed my 3850(AGP) card 8.12 didn't recognise it (go figure) but 8.10 did so I installed 8.10 then just copied the relevant files from 8.12 to get MW to work. So you may have to install whichever driver will recognise your card then copy over the relevant files from 8.12....just a thought.

I always copy and rename the 3 DLLs when running 9.X drivers.

As a temporary workaround, i put my old 3850 back into the machine and removed the 4770. When running the 3850 with the 9.x drivers, I get VPU recoveries, too, so it does not seem to be a problem of the card.

So I am back to 3850 with 8.12 drivers until a solution is found.

I don't have the time to waste all my evenings or weekends trying to get the 4770 to run with MW.

Have similar problem with HD4870 + XP32
Maybe some app tuning will help?
Currently I tried to decrease number of simultaneously running tasks and to increase "frequency" (decrease max time for kernel run).
But still blue screens time to time.
Catalyst 8.12 onboard. Some more suggestins?

There's an AGP hotfix somewhere for AGP 3850s.
