I'm trying to run an HD3850 card but it wont crunch units. It will start to run them stating 0.1 cpu's etc but immediately they error out. The error code is -1073741515 (0xffffffffc0000135)

I'm using Boinc 6.4.7, Catalyst 8.12, and gisels 0.19f ati driver. The card is a Sapphire, and the CPU is an AMD Athlon 64 3000+

Is it the AMD that is the problem? Others aren't having any problems running these cards. Any help gratefully recieived.

I also have problems with my 3850 oc card. I have tried numerous settings, some help (not solve) but then the GPU utlization is really low. I now have "Computing allowed when computer is in use" set to disabled, but still sometimes get VPU recoveries and the ATI 0.19f App is in a neverending loop taking 100% of the CPU, until at some point I notice it and restart boinc. I have no probs with my 4850 and 4870 cards, also Furmark runs nicely on the card so I suspect the card is working fine "hardware wise".

I still feel you have a slightly different problem, as your WU's error out immediately. Do you get a VPU Recovery? Have you overclocked? Have you tested that you get no artifacts running Furmark? How are the temperatures? Have you read the readme, all settings ok and files installed properly?

I am not certain but possibly that error code -1073741515 indicates a missing DLL (.NET).

It was necessary for me to install .NET Framework 3.5 to get my HD3850 to run without error.

OK, I had .net v2 running and I've upgraded to .net 3.5 SP1 but I still get the same problem. Everything is set up right as far as I can see. This card is a AGP one and I've had a PCI-e 3850 running in an intel rig no problem with .net 2.

I'm going to pull it and try it in another AGP rig and see what happens. Thanks for the help so far, appreciated.

OK we got a result! I had to download and run the AGP Hotfix file which I hadn't realised I needed. All up and running and happily crunching away. Many thanks to everyone that helped. :-))
