What Are These Prefs For?
(Message 61131)
Posted 16 Feb 2014 by Josiah - Images of Heaven Post: I'm probably the only one who doesn't know but these Milkyway preferences seem to indicate a graphics display: Period (in milliseconds) to check for scene updates 30 Change how fast the view randomly moves around 5 Make particles bigger or smaller 250 Make particles bigger or smaller when using uglier particles 40 However none of the projects I have run seem to have graphics associated with them and my BOINC graphics button for Milkyway tasks is always greyed out. Am I floating through dark matter or just missed something? Thanks |

Some new work units running
(Message 61064)
Posted 11 Feb 2014 by Josiah - Images of Heaven Post: Yes I have not been able to upload anything for 24 hours either which is preventing new work units from any BOINC projects from coming in. Server Status does, however, show that a truck load of servers are down: http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/server_status.php Anybody got a screw driver and a wrench? If not, how about a rubber mallet? |

Users Auto-Aborting Work Units
(Message 60951)
Posted 4 Feb 2014 by Josiah - Images of Heaven Post: My issue is that I notice the Nbody jobs come in and take over all 8 of my processors thereby suspending all my other BOINC projects. The only one that doesn't do that is the flagship milkyway@home. Therefore I aborted all of the 'vampire' workunits that suck up all 8 processors and then unchecked them Sorry folks but I'm not letting workunits take over all 8 processors. |
