21) Message boards : Number crunching : Percentage complete. (Message 66074)

The current program SEEMS to be running okay, but I can see the percentage complete jumping up and down all over the place. Runs up to 20% drops to 5%, up to perhaps 35%, down again, sometimes many repetitions.

I looked at my results page and was suprised to find over 700 work units flagged as "Aborted by user". As far as I know, I have not aborted any, let alone 700+.
23) Message boards : Number crunching : Fix For Truncated stderr.txt Files BOINC 7.6.6 (Message 63884)

I have tried to download the newer BOINC version 3 times, each time, it failed with a generic failure message. I guess it will sort itself out after a while, I had not seen the problem anyway, so not a critical issue.

Three more errors today, (in the last 12 hours), no new tasks set. I think the failures are happening when the system is restarted, an inconvenient, but necessary action for me right now.

14 errors now. Some quick, others after considerable run time. Have not set no new tasks but will if this continues.

Yes, I know, I hadn't thought it had been that long.

Error count up to 12 now.

In the past few days, I've had seven wu's error out. Oddly, four of them with exactly the same run time.

>>> It doesn't really 'waste' them

When I see the Windows idle process running, there is computing power available that is not being used. Yes, it IS wasting them.

Okay, done. I had assumed that multithreading would be a project wide setting, and hence, was looking in the wrong place.

For the curious, I wanted to get out of mt because it waste significant resources - I hate to see the Windows Idle Process "running" when I have loads of work for other projects waiting on the same machine. I dumped LHC's T4T project for the same reason.

Just looked at my settings trying to find an opt out for the multithreaded wu's. couldn't find it. Where is it?
