ATI application (v0.57) should be available now
(Message 47481)
Posted 10 Apr 2011 by Michael Post: Running the new 0.57 WU now and ~95% lead to computation errors. I'm running on Win 7 64 with an ati 5830 and catalyst 11.3. i got the opposite scenario ... all tasks with _free in the filename lead to computation error and all with _fix are working fine win 7, boinc 60.10.60 x64, catalyst 11.3., gainward hd 4870 gs 1024MB |

Posted 10 Apr 2011 by Michael Post: What with Seti's recent troubles and other Boinc projects as well, it looks like 2011 is going to be an interesting test of Boinc loyalties :-)) I guess, the efficiency and the importance of the project should be the point of interest ... and not the loyalty |

Posted 10 Apr 2011 by Michael Post: good morning from germany ok after i got several computation errors, I reattached the project and it worked. BUT the ATI app used round about 15% of my quadcore while 4 CPU WUs also was on computing. I guess this shouldnt be so ... also i still have the feeling the CPUs WUs are able to burn my CPU. I don't know what it is. If other programs like prime95 or other boinc projects use it, which also use 100% of my CPU, my cpu temp always is about 50°. With milkyway CPU WUs its flipping from 55°-70° (max cpu temp:61°) sry but i cant believe i m the only one with this problem, if all other apps and programs are running fine on my system. |

Posted 9 Apr 2011 by Michael Post: I would kill the guy who is responsible for this :PThat would mostly be my fault plz take a look at the smiley ... that means it was more a joke ... no so seriously I wouldnt kill u =) I WOULD ******** *** ** * * ** * *** U :D just kidding I guess the most of the users havent noticed it yet and also will never notice it. More important projects? yes, but I think we have to solve some "smaller" problems in biology, chemistry or physic first, before we look at more complex problems like the stars and our universe =) Or think about what zydor has said, the computation for the milkyway would be no problem if we had quantum computers. so why shouldnt we solve this problem first ? :o |

what ? no nothing was done with my thoughts. I had alrdy written a big flamepost and then i deleted it, cause i came to my senses. also they are just humans. but it's hard to see that 1 million results got lost like a *puff* and was blown away. Sure i ll go on and crunch =) why not get both ati and nvidia cards? i guess there are more important projects in other science fields, but they don't support ATI ;) so I ll think about what happened again, when I get a nvidia card ... |

The other way haha i like this way of thinking ^^ but it would be a lie if i would say something like i hadnt thought about leaving this project after the last night... I ll stay as long as i have no nvidia card ... and then we ll see =) |
