Posted 20 Jan 2016 by pmassey Post: Without knowing what hardware you actually have (your descriptions tell us nothing) it's hard to say. CPU based tasks should work, if your setup supports them (is it a 32-bit or 64-bit CPU? What OS?); the GPU is going to be a lot harder to say - need to know what it is to say what might run on it. |

GPU v non-gpu tasks

Posted 20 Jan 2016 by pmassey Post: Keep in mind that not all problems are suited to GPU usage. Some problems do run much better on CPU. |

Intel Open CL
(Message 64154)
Posted 6 Dec 2015 by pmassey Post: I have 2 PCs with an Intel GPU. Do you have plans about developing an app for Intel GPUs?? Currently there is no reason for them to develop it - the Intel GPU isn't capable of running the math for this project. |

Posted 21 Feb 2015 by pmassey Post: I'm beginning to notice quite a few tasks (and I'm noticing it for some pretty big ones too see this task attached to this WU as an example) - any thoughts why Invalid tasks seem to be popping up more often then I'm used to seeing? |

Posted 19 Sep 2013 by pmassey Post: So how long is it planned for them to be in beta? I do like that it is a MT/MP application, which none of the other tasks I run on BOINC are. Just wish the credits gained faster. |

App version needs OpenCL but GPU doesn't support it
(Message 56664)
Posted 29 Dec 2012 by pmassey Post:
I will check the driver versions. BOINC reports virtual box version if it finds vbox installed on the system. I'm certainly not trying to crunch a VM. I'm also noticing BOINC having an issue with how much RAM it think my cards have. It says my Quadro 600 has 246GB of video RAM - and over 100TB of video RAM availible. Quite impressive for a low end card! (Also thinks the Quadro FX 1800 in another computer has 4GB of video RAM). |
