Under the Telecommunications Act 1984, it is an offence to make threatening calls using the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) This applies both to landlines and mobiles. There is a BT Malicious calls Bureau on 0800 661 441 which is manned 24/7.

BT Calls advice

Thanks Chris. I'm not about to report a stupid 13 year old boy to the police. At that age they don't really know better, I'll take it up with the school and the kids parents if it carries on.

Hopefully he won't be still doing that sort of thing in his 40s and 50s, that would be pathetic.

Quite right for him Es. I support both of your stands. Certainly if anyone tried that against me, and I found their home location, things might not go well for them.

The kid just tried to call again, I answered and gave him a right earful. Hopefully that is the end of it.

Funny how cyber bullies behave the same everywhere. My son's friend had a conversation on his page on Facebook where kids were bragging about a 'fight' which was 6 kids beating up one. Although my son doesn't particularly like the kid that was being beaten up he spoke out against the cowardly actions of the kids who beat him up pointing out that 6 against 1 wasn't a fair fight.

It's now escalated to the point where my son's mobile number is being passed around and we are receiving calls after midnight and kids are threatening to beat him up.

From my own experience with cyber bullying I am totally not surprised about this has gone down, but I am still very proud of him for sticking up for what is right. He is obviously more like me than I realised! :)

Hopefully my own experience of cowards on the internet will help him understand that he did nothing wrong standing up to the bullies in the first place.

I heard somewhere that that helped some long haired dogs...Seems to work.

They must feel the static in the air with their fur.

One of my dogs hates Thunderstorms...the other will sit and watch VERY attentively at the window

My cats don't seem to notice thunderstorms at all. They are far too comfortable lying on my bed with their little feet in the air to be disturbed by such things.

Angel and I only notice the ones that happen right overhead, Otherwise She doesn't see or hear It. :D

The only dog that's left from when my Mom passed freaks out at the first sound of thunder. It seems to help to rub her coat with a Dryer sheet...Go figure.

Aren't those the things that stop static in your wash? How did you work out that that helps her out?

I've also caught up with loads of old school friends through facebook and can stay in touch with people I used to work with.

I thought the Friends Reunited web site was the one to get in touch with old friends from primary school, the little school, secondary school, University and the myriad places you may have worked.

I must admit to joining it years ago, and occasionally look in to see the changes. But, I think that network is past it's sell by date?

The only messages I got from there were from fellow students I barely remembered messaging me and apologising for being such jerks at school. Still, it's nice to know their lives are back on track now they're out of jail.

Ditto to the others.

Social networking the traditional ways, and keeping cousins, etc, at arms length is the way.

I have no Twitter or Facebook accounts. TM there is little interest. So, maybe a little exploration another time, when I can make the time?

I happen to really like all my cousins and my family. But none of them are in London and most of them are in Canada, so facebook makes sense. I can keep up with who's had how many babies and see all the pictures.

I've also caught up with loads of old school friends through facebook and can stay in touch with people I used to work with.

Absolutely no. It's in the same vein as facebook etc. it's for youngsters and kids under 30 and celebrity has-beens on the C list......

I really like facebook. I keep up with all my friends and family.

No facebook here either, My family doesn't use It and the web they use mainly for email, Nothing else I think, But If I want to get in touch, There's always the phone.

My family are all over the place and I have lots of cousins. Phone is going to be too expensive. Facebook is much better!
