The 32bit version is linked statically, and the 64bit version is linked dynamically. It should be recompiled to statically to avoid those problems. Harald

Voltron It seems to be a problem with libc: kernel: astronomy_1.23_[12380]: segfault at 41ed5ff8 ip 7f4f28960239 sp 41ed6000 error 6 in libc-2.8.so[7f4f288ec000+14f000]

Both machines aren't oc and do not overheat. Memtest would have been my next step, though other projects are working fine, and mw did too with suse 10.3. I'll give word when I recieve the results of the memtest. And try out KDE3.5! 4.0 isn't stable yet. Harald

I tried Suse 11 x64 on a gigabyte p35 board with an ATI 600 vid card and a dual core 4500. What a mess. Ubuntu has absolutely no problem with this config but Suse with Gnome is just awful. Why are you flirting with Suse? Voltron I'm flirting with suse since 6.4 and it works fine for me. And I'm using KDE. BTW, on a third machine it works fine. Harald
