d'Artagnan

Born into an impoverished noble family of Gascony

d'Artagnan is challenged to duels by three musketeers: Athos, Porthos, and Aramis

The three musketeers and d'Artagnan unite to defeat the cardinal's guards. In this manner the young Gascon earns the respect and friendship of Athos, Porthos and Aramis and soon becomes a soldier in a regiment of the Royal Guard.

Just Like d'Artagnan, come join the musketeer's. Together we can defeat any team that may come our way. And a long the way we get to help smaller teams get a good start.

A note from stanhemi
Hey guys,

I don't know if you'll have noticed but user "stanhemi" has been gone for a while. He last posted saying his health had deteriorated a lot and that he was not going to be around much. Well after a while of not hearing from him I decided to PM him and got this as a response.

Well, to honor stanhemi and his contribution of almost 1 million points to the TPU WCG team me and a few other members have switched some rigs over to his name to keep his name alive. I make this thread to ask that you help out as well, it'll really be nice if we can get him to get some serious points like maybe be top 25 of all WCG crunchers or something. Something big. Right now with only a few people crunching for him he's averaging some great numbers, with just a few more he'll be among the top crunchers of all WCG.

What do you guys say? If you want in PM me and I'll send you his details

When I told him we needed his details to crunch for him he gladly accepted and sent me this as a reply:

Hope you get better soon Stanley.

Stanleys response:
thank you for keeping my name alive I appreciated it.
Today is a bad day for me my blood oxygen is at 84,I feel like I was breathing through a straw.

I could not thank each one could you do it for me please
thanks a lot

36) Message boards : Number crunching : Closing Down Digital Recon Team (Message 33924)
Posted 29 Nov 2009 by Profile Dan T. Morris
Post:
As of this morning the team Digital Recon will be no longer.

I have been doing the Boinc thing for more than 5 years now and I guess that I have done my fair share for science.

But with a heavy heart and good memories, I am also closing down all of my computers on boinc. It would seem that with my new company that I am starting, I have found that I no longer have the time. To those of you who I have come to know as friends, we will still talk from time to time. And to those who have come to hate me, well I guess that just won't change.

To each of you who have the fever of crunching, Kudos to you. But my fever for it is no longer.

Take care.

My Number 2. item was meant as sarcasm. poor attempt I might add.

I just get very weary of those who think that we should not progress with faster application for getting work done at an accelerated step. And then when we do some complain that we get too much credit. Its a no win scenario...Go figure.:)

But one thing that should be understood that if you have a slow computer don't expect the project to go slower.
40) Message boards : Number crunching : Problem with tiny cache in MW (Message 33886)

Post:
Brian, it seems one solution that has been overlooked is cutting the credits in 1/2 again. In that case all the GPU's would be looking at other projects that pay more and those with CPU's that were only here for the science would be left.

I'd think that would be a long term solution to an overtaxed infrastructure. <smile>

I really only see two solutions.

1. Add one more extra computer to handle the load.

2. Get rid of the slow cpu support that way Science gets done much faster.

Then all that we will hear is my gpu is not fast enough for the project.

Hence no more complaining about slow and no cpu work and the credits will be the same for everyone on the project. :)
