Well I for one enterprise am having fun like you getting all the credits that I can and fine tuning my systems do it more efficiently..

And I must tell you that I am having a blast.

Science is also one of my interest, but hey come on those worthless credits seem to dig deep into you and make one cry for more..:)

This is interesting thought taking distributed computing to a new level.

Here is a thought to help that comment out.

1. All credit rates and times should be the soul ownership of the project admin, Not DA's quest for equal wu parity. As this cross parity will never work. This would be do to the fact that all Science projects will have different needs and require different computer types and hardware. And who will be the credit cops for this new adventure? DA? Then all lower projects should now comply and raise there rates...Right like this will ever happen..

2. Some times in our lives we must as parents let go of the children, and let them grow up for them selves. So Please DA..Find more kids to raise. Please!

3. This whole argument about credits that has been going on now for 3 or more years could be stopped by the admin's of projects, by stating that this point per wu will be this and not change any unless the admin's increase the amount of computer time required to complete the task per wu.

4 All those who think that the credit is too high will be asked to leave the project and find a lower credit project to make them happy, as we want to make them happy don't we? And I will do my best to point them out for the complainers. Hey anything to help those folks out.

5. Have a great day.

Lets wait how the NEW credit reduction is gonna be
Or its gonna be here i come collatz
I even am thinking of turning off all projects as long as mister Anderson is alive.

The irony is that people complained for years about cross-project parity, and when steps are made to try and address that problem more complaints come across :)

The new credit scheme is honestly just a way to track credit in a project independent manner so when new projects come along they don't have to deal with all the credit issues.

I know you all want to think there's some big brother keeping you down in the credit ranks, but honestly Dave and the rest of us really want to make it so that credit is distributed correctly across projects in some kind of fair manner.

Honestly, we're really not so smart, which is why it's not been so good in the past. The new credit scheme is to try and make things better, really :)

When this happens I foresee a large exit happening me included. Hows that for cross project comparison. But hey its only me leaving .. so I would imagine you will find many of those 100 wu a day folks who will love it.

And the only ones who were complaining were the ones who do not have the investment in computers like some of us have. It has been a nice run here but hey we all have to do what makes us and DA happy. Chow

Here we go again. Playing with the credits again, and I was just thrilled to see the project up and running. Oh well I guess that the....cops are back before we even get going. lets see 4 credit changes in one year. Oh my.. Get the flame proof jackets ready folks!

Shame. Sometimes if you want to get the kids to play you have to offer them some candy.

Running a screensaver is like taking candy from a baby - it uses valuble CPU cycles which reduces the amount of data processed and therefore, means it will take longer for the project to reach its goal.

Yes what he said.

Besides, There are a lot of very nice stars out there that need mapped.:)

On October 9th, 2009 Digital Recon Team was created to gather together a group of serious Boinc users and to become the #1 Team in the world. It is also our goal to bring together people from all over the world and from all nations to form a dedicated membership. And to parlay that effort, for the benefit of all BOINC distributed computing projects. Digital Recon is committed to showing the world that we can be a part of something that goes beyond the boundaries’ of just one country, and you as an individual can help connect our counties through helping Science. We look forward to you joining our team.

If you want to see totally poor management, go look around at Cosmology. There are issues which have not been fixed in over a year. Admins continually bungle SQL scripts. The server crash in February/March of this year still has not been completely "fixed", meaning there are newer issues than those that are more than a year old, so they're not even back to where they were before the crash.

I crunch for several projects and there are always ups and downs with all of them. Some just vanish with no word as to why. But Cosmo... that's the perfect example of how NOT to run a project.

You hit that nail on the head on the first drive of the hammer. That project needs some real tlc.

Yup we broke it. Darn it all. I guess I will have to resort to Prime grid and Rosetta. Hey what the heck if I am going to have bad credits I just as well pick the worst ones[in credits]...smile...
