You are there.
there are just some wrong coding on a couple lines that make it not show.
Doing a search it pops up right away. So you are defenitaly there.
I saw the team 2 days ago as a matter of fact but now it's hidden in the jungle of coding.

I apologize Ice
I should not have talked about OC and other things here.
I will keep this thread as it was originally made for.

Hmm.. There must be something i dont get in this discussion..

Until very resent I had only a little slow comp to run Mw on, but I
have always had work.. New WU`s have been downloaded before the last
WU was done. And also now it looks like i get some WU`s ;-) I didnt
complain then, and i dont complain now. Maybe thats why I get work..??
Try it. LoL

Hello AriZona Moon!!
Yes, me too I have had a steady stream of WU for the past 2 days now.
Yes some of the discussion below were a bit heated but we are just but human.
I am still waiting for MW GPU to start but I heard that Travis got sick?
If this is the case I hope he's doing just fine soon.
Personnal Health is a lot more important than WU and when one gets sick all of a sudden all priorities changes.
Have a great day/night where you are ;)

Heh!
Gonna reply to my own thread :)
The below OC is just 300MHz mind.
I set the easytune6 @ full OC and the max it goes (probably for safety) is 3.35GHz from 2.83GHz allthough the stock shows average speed of 2.66GHz.
So an OC of about ~4-500 MHz and in the "safe zone"
Even at 3.35GHz the temp does not go past 43C while crunching. Pretty decent.
I probably could get a lot more OC through the BIOS but I am not by any means an expert and just don't want to wreck anything.
I always wondered what would be the ultimate processor for crunching.
The Extreme series of Intel which is supposedly made for gaming pales in comparison of some of the Q series. But yet the Extreme series somehow are excellent for applications. But @ $1500+ is out of range for most of us.
What processor out there is to your opinion the best for "mathematically crunching numbers?" Not gaming but solely crunching. XEON?
If you look at cpubenchmark in the High End CPU's the XEON is leaving the other in the dust along with the new I7. Does it mean a server is the best for max crunch since XEON are for servers?

To see some extreme OC go here

I do such things through some BIOS settings ;)

Haha CP. Got me there.

Fortunately I have a Gigabyte P35-DS3P MB and found easytune 6.0 on their site.
I am not reallly wanting to OC. I just want to see the time it takes to crunch a AP with stock cpu which is @2.83 GHz and OC right now @ 3.2 GHz.
Right now my MW computer cruncher also crunch AP from S@H and the turn around is about 16-17 hours per AP or roughly 60,000 seconds.
I think it's pretty good considering my old celeron was crunching 1 AP in about 2 -3 weeks or roughly 1,300,000 seconds
It is a Q6600 with a Gigabyte MB 965, ATI 4870 Vid card.
My main computer is with the Q9550. I also have a Thermaltake V1 fan in it and right now @ 3.2GHz the temp on all 4 core is between 35 to 45 celcius. Not bad I think while crunching and me using the computer.

Go have a look Here and tell me what you think and if it all looks OK.
This is purely out of curiosity.
I don't think I really can get a real reading though as during the day I use this main computer.
My impression is that my Q6600 is faster then the Q9550 as I don't use the Q6600.
It is solely for crunching.

Hello Misfit.
I meant any high end apps. Intensive graphic software.
I was actually looking for Overclocking my Q9550 through google and I got into an interesting forum about it and there was a link that brought me to this other URL. But now I just cannot find it
Gonna try to find it again and see what I can come up with.

I read yesterday in a somewhat nebulous web site that ATI is actually getting away from gaming cards and wants to focus more on apps like photoshop and so on...
Or that could eventually just stop manufacturing all together..
Any truth to that?
I just cannot seem to find this site anymore.

@ Donnie
Boy you seem to be in deep.
Ok first of all, I have heard and read that the Cracked Direct X 10 or 11 for XP COULD be infected. Follow this link below. Good information about it.
http://www.megaleecher.net/Download_DirectX_11

Also IF you are infected with Direct X 10 go to google and type "doctor web" and download the "cure it" software onto a usb or cd. NOT on your computer has the executable will be infected right away.

I also feel that your registry is now clogged up with ATI and BOINC entry.
Why dont you
1. Uninstall BOINC (then delete the folder in C:\Program Files\BOINC)
2. Unisntall any and all ATI you may have (even the control panel from ATI)
3. Go in C:\Program Files\ again and delete any folder left from ATI
4. Download a freeware to cleanup registry like ccleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/ (Myself I use regcure whit a licensed copy) and CLEAN
5.Reboot
6.Do an online scan (Kaspersky recommended)
If by then there is no virus found or you havent formatted yet keep reading.
7.Click on start then "run" then type dxdiag (this will defenately tell you what you have for a directX)
8.DX10 is part of the OS and can't be removed. But 10 is not a full version of DX. You still need the 9.0 runtimes for games and applications.
Run the 9.0c installer and it will install all the needed runtimes and files so that you can play games that are for 10 or for 9.0.
9.Make sure you have the ati_0.19e_win32_SSE2 and the hotfix.
10.Reinstall 8.12 then reboot
11. Reinstall BOINC. 6.5.0 is recommended as it is stable (my opinion)
12. Attach to MW (good luck on getting any WU)
13. If you can just run 0.1 days worth of WU to start.
when you get the appropriate files Shut down BOINC and unzip the ati_0.19e_win32_SSE2 in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC\projects\milkyway.cs.rpi.edu_milkyway_gpu folder.
Your done.
I am not sure what the hotfix is and whether you have to run it prior or after.
Reformat if you feel it could fix the directX10 problem.
If all fails I am sorry I tried my best. I am not computer tech by any means.

Anyone knows for sure when Windows7 will come out?
MS has stopped the DL of the BETA W7 so does it means it's almost ready to get released on the shelves?

DirectX 10 will work with Vista or higher.

@ Donnie.

Heya Donnie.
What I mean is more than one user in this computer.
For example I have my profile on mine "martin" and my wife's (twyla)
she logs off then switch to her side.
I say that because the error that you copied/pasted is the exact same one I get from S@H and GPUGRID if I am crunching on "my side" and then my wife "switch user" and go to her side to check her e-mail and so on..
I had the most enormous errored out WU from GPUGRID and never made the connection until I saw my wife switching user on the computer.
I immediately went back to "my side" to find out that another WU errored out with the same msg you have been getting.
As far as the dual OS that you now seems to have this could potentially "disturb" Xp in its functionality. If I remember you can fix that by right clicking on "my computer" then click on "properties" then on "hardware tab" then at bottom click on "hardware profiles" You might see 2 profiles (OS) there. You can delete the one you don't want making sure you keep the "current" one active.

But this could or could not work. I had a similar problems years ago and ultimately I just reformated.

I have a ToughPower Thermaltake 650W PS.
Like I said I have a gaming rig and is of the type of guy that upgrade at least once a year one component or another.
I probably don't need all that power but I have piece of mind. I won't need one unless it goes in smoke like the last I had.
It was a stock PS 500W in a Apevia case and 2 days after installing my now defund 8800GTX it went on me.
Probably just a bad PS from manufacturer. In any case I just chose this particular one which I felt would suit me for a couple years.

As far as crunching like a madman whether on GPU or CPU I am quite content the way my 2 rigs crucnh.
I remember not so long ago that it took me 2 years to crunch 11000 credits on a celeron at S@H.
I upgraded in the summer of 97 to a C2D E6850 for 1 and to a Q6600 in the other computer. In one year they crunched over 1 million credit. Needless to say I was happy.
And happier when they came with CUDA and GPU technologies.
My preferences are S@H being with this project since 2004 and MW.
Allthough I occasionally run another project or 2.
After all this is for science's sake.
We should just be happy to be able to be here and living while other are forced to their hospital bed all day long or worst.
Being a steel worker I have a good salary and is therefore able to afford some upgrade.
I was not that fortunate at one point. But I still crunched S@H at a crawling pace and I was happy to help.
In Tibet they say "One thousand priest, one thousand religions"
Of course some of us will want to be first in credit and so on. This is just our nature. When I game online with 15 other people around the world I am very competetive and wants to be the first.
But I never forget my origin which in fact were quite humble. I never forget also that at one point I did not have money to spend on a rig.
If you crunch, just be proud to be helping a higher cause whether you get 3 credit/day or 150000 credit/day.

Have a great day all and just smile
