I had the dreaded windows pop up tonight. The MS error report was:

2) Message boards : Number crunching : errors on 1.12 (Message 882)

I think I will push it up to 90 and see if it effects things.

James, have you tried the leaving in memory option. I have that set and have had no problems with units crashing on suspend (so far). Milkyway only seems to use about 16.7 Megs of memory, not sure about seti though. Dave.

Looks like we drained the well dry again! Dave.

4) Message boards : Number crunching : Problems downloading Stars and Volume files (Message 261)
Posted 9 Nov 2007 by Sou'westerly
Post:
I’ve noticed this morning on this winXP machine that all files ending with a 4 figured number starting with a 3 have downloaded successfully, e.g.
09/11/2007 09:07:32|Milkyway@home|Finished download of parameters_generated_1194648761_3785
However all files ending with a 5 figure number beginning with a 4 have failed because the file has not been found, e.g.
09/11/2007 08:57:38|Milkyway@home|Giving up on download of parameters_generated_1194582769_44937: file not found
Hope that helps, Dave.
5) Message boards : Number crunching : BOINC repeatedly contacting the project. (Message 217)
Posted 8 Nov 2007 by Sou'westerly
Post:
Are other people seeing this in their message logs? I am running BOINC 5.10.26 under windows XP. Milkyway appears to be immediately reporting tasks on completion. This is promptly causing my scheduler to contact the project scheduler for a couple of seconds new work despite already having about 100 tasks in the queue. Given the very short work units this means that I make contact every minute or so. If others are seeing this then it must be putting a strain on the project server. Dave.
