Does Boinc still detects it ?
Do you have any explicit message in Boinc from the project ?

Failing that information it's all going to be conjecture unless a recent change in project code/app removed support.
But you would get a project message I expect.

None of the apps has been updated since 2019.

Is there any likelihood of Intel GPU’s being added to the list please ?

no hardware FP64 (double precision) = no chance

You can use it (like me) for Einstein and Primegrid :)

MSI adfterburner shows usage around 80%, so I don't think there's much point fighting for 20% :D

That would make out of the 16.5k RAC for that machine nearly 20k, maybe even more as it would eliminate all the small breaks between WUs (note that every MW WU consists out of 5 small WUs, hence "bundle5", every 20% there's a short break in GPU crunching while the next sub-WU loads). Definitely worth trying I'd say.

maybe.
this sytem will run the RTX A2000 and a Quadro K2200 as soon as I receive the dual PCIe motherboard. I probably won't bother fine tuning this hybrid system ;D

My RTX A2000 is about 220sec/task

for 300 euros 2nd hand and <60W it's decent I guess ?

If I understand your reply (and not sure I do!,) All my current BOINC machines are running Linux Debian (desktops) or Linux Ubuntu (Jetson Nano.) .

jetson Nano is aarch64-unknown-linux-gnu
which isn't supported by Milway@home (cf https://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/apps.php)
it works with Einstein@home and some setup ;-)

As far as I am aware, the latest Intel GPUs don't have built-in FP64 support (so OpenCL would have to fall back on software emulation...)

As the GPU app here is FP64, that would seem to make it a non-starter, I'm afraid.

Cheers - Al.

You may have noticed that it has been quite a while since consumer grade GPU had decent FP64 built-in, when they have it at all

Also the ARC A750 in my system handles very decently Primegrid and Einstein WU, some of these also using FP64...
I don't think that SW emulation is a problem, more GPU support = more WU processed = more research....

Hello,

Is there any plan to support Intel ARC GPU ?
They're supported by Primegrid and Einstein@home and they're pretty decent in terms of performance.

I've got an ARC A750 on a system dedicated to BOINC since november and it has been crunching WU 24/7 since :)

Thank you

My cc_config was correct.

I also had to connect each GPU to a monitor and extend the windows desktop.

I'm glad I have monitors with multiple inputs as I didn't want to put resistors on the dvi to VGA adapter.

Now I may have to do that if I want to use the APU engine... but i'm sure it's worth it

Also I had no errors or invalid WU for 24 on this computer, although I had to suspend/resume some WUs.

A few inconclusive but that's usual.

I finally managed to get them to work at the proper PCI-E speed and with Xfire connectors removed (don't ask me how...)

I will monitor for "never ending WU" now.

(they're still crunching 2/GPU)

i do also get never ending wu.

suspending/resuming them works, but I dot get a bunch of invalid/errors:

3x HD7950 GPU, running 2 WU/GPU

Have you tried running just one wu/gpu at a time and see if the errors still occur? Do you have an SLI cable connecting the gpu's? If so take it off and see if the errors stop. I realize that the SLI IS better for gaming, but it is NOT helpful to crunching, in fact it can cause errors. What else do you do while the pc is crunching using the gpu's? Do you leave any cpu cores free just for the gpu's to use?

hello Mickey (are you the same having help me with my BU issue ? )

This computer is dedicated to BOINC.

There's 2 crossfire cables.

There's a free CPU core.

I've noticed that in the past 2h, my GPU temp has dropped dramatically (used to reach 85C, now stable at 40C.

Even though the ambiant temperature hasn't dropped and each GPU is still doing 2WU at a time.

==================================================
I've stopped the computer and removed the XFire conenctors and restarted it.

We'll see.

Thank you for the suggestion.

(FYI I initially used the XFire conenctors as I couldn't connect each GPU to a monitor to get them to process WU)

Note: When I remove the crossfire connectors, My GPU show as connected to a PCI-E v1.1 slot.

With the Xfire connector, they show a 2.0 PCI-E bus... well except now... they still show PCI-E 1.1 and WU are taking a lot longer, and it explains the temps.

Anyway, I'm going to troubleshoot all that and post back...

use TThrottle.

You can set a max temp and Tthrottle will "throttle" down your GPU to keep it under the target.

I'm running 3GPU with a target of 80C.
Otherwise they go over 100C and go in thermal shutdown.

Thank you for this post.

I have 3x HD7950 in my crunching box and MW was using only2.

I now run 1WU on each GPU, which suits me fine, as overheating is an issue so I don't want to run more than 1 WU ATM. (but at least I know how to fix it)

<app_config>
<app>
<name>milkyway</name>
<max_concurrent>3</max_concurrent>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>1</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>.05</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
</app_config>

No need to restart BOINC BTW, just issue a "read config files" from the "advanced menu"
