So whats the deal? My machine won't get any work yet there are ~800 WU's ready to send according to the server page...Combine that with Einstein being down and my backup to a backup SETI being out of work its a rather boring day for my Mac :/

If something interrupts a disk write it will give you that error too Tutta, see the folowing > http://www.boinc-wiki.info/index.php?title=Unrecoverable_error_for_result_%27(result)%27_(process_got_signal_11) ... :)

The No heartbeat from core client is related to the Process 11 Error, see the post I made to Tuttas ... :)

Thanks, just looked it up. I'll keep an eye on the WU, see if the other person gets the error or if my computer was in a quirky mood.

Just noticed I got a computer error on a 3 hour WU...

No heartbeat from core client for 31 sec - exiting

Well with cosmology still down I've had no choice but to run Milkyway constantly on my one machine so all's good ;)

And for a beta project you've got to give these guys a hand...

Just keep in mind a little forewarning beforehand would be nice...I imagine quite a few people are perplexed at the suddenly exponentially longer WU's

I agree, 2 min's is quite fast to have the Wu's Purged,

the values for the purge are still based on the short wus that's why...

what if I have a PC thats spitting out bad Wu's & there not being Validated, their gone before I even know it ... 0_0

if that happens you'll know cuz your daily quota will decrease pretty fast ;)

Oh I see, that would make sense then :)

As far as reducing the time, probably 1/3 off would be best, though for the slower machines I'm sure they'll be thinking that 1/2 would be best.

The second two WU's running on my dual core 2.2 mac are taking considerably longer than the first one..looks like 12+ hrs now :/

Got a bit of a problem that's stumping me. I awoke to find one MW run done at 6 hrs and 33 minutes...(Mac, Core 2 Duo @ 2.2 Ghz) so it updated and reported to server. However there is no record of this in my results or in pending credit. So I'm not sure if it was reported or lost in hyperspace.

WUs get quickly purged from the db, so that's probably why you can't see it any more.

Within 2 minutes of reporting? That's a bit of a quick turn around...

Secondly as someone else mentioned the deadlines need to be tweaked or the amount of work handed out per run should be tweaked...I've got running high priority on my one machine trying to meet the deadlines.

But overall good idea to increase the WU's...hope you catch up on the technology end soon!

Haha, can't catch a break...Cosmo comes back online with work and MW runs out...

? ... I doubt your going to get any though from Cosmo, my Box's haven't been able to at least.

I sat by my computer for a few minutes forcing it to the update server and managed to get it to snag a few...

And I'm sure MW will have some work by tomorrow...the weekends are always shaking around here, but Travis and Co do a great job trying to keep up with the overwhelming support..

Server issues/bandwidth overloading perhaps...

Or little green alien men disrupting the system so we can't map out the milkyway and uncover them ;)

Really sucked this morning when milky, cosmo, and seti all didn't work...never thought i'd end up back at malaria@home!

It seems some of my systems have a life of their own, 2 of them managed to replicate themselves in my account. Luckily, I was able to "delete" one of them but the other still lives on.

Split CPID?

Have you tried merging hosts? Better option than deleting.

Al.

Not sure the merging system is totally free of bugs either...I attempted merging the same computer, and now that computer has an actual total 30,000 than what I actually have.

Any computers that have zero credit to them, you might as well delete. Ones with credit, you can try merging, just don't be surprised if the totals don't add up...

Yeah, I'm out again. But that's why you keep backup projects :)

Goes to show you how good technology has gotten that we run out of these WU's so fast!

I've gotten 6 successful WU's, and 5 WU's that have errored out. Just stopped one now that was going on 11+ minutes. The ones that succeed ran about 200 seconds shorter than the last batch...

It looks like we have new work starting to come through, hopefully all clean this time. Thanks Travis.

EDIT: But no, the first one I got was a dud. :(

Got 2 WU's, one's of the gs_373 variety that seems to running forever, the gs_596 unit is running top speed though...Kind of looks like they're running off by a factor of ten 14% to 1.4% completion...

I'll leave milkyway running, help get rid of those 37's even if it does chew up a bit of time.

Thanks for the updates and continuing attempts to solve this though!

I've got two 2h-ones yesterday, and one 4h-one just now. I've killed them, have the project set to NNW and am just waiting to report them back before resetting the project. Or is there no need to report them?

we might have found the problem. we had the wrong script set up to dump the database every few days -- so while i took the server down this morning to get rid of the ones from the new search, the database was too slow to do anything.

i'm running a full purge (which is gonna take quite awhile), but after that i'll get the remaining gs_3737... WUs out of the system. i've already stopped the search so there wont be any new ones generated. hopefully they'll get out of the systems quickly.

Thanks for the update! Looking forward to getting on with the new WU's once it sorts out :)

I noticed for a few days that my Windows machine seemed to hang up on WU's, after the 19th I have to kill a few, and I can't get a steady stream of results from it.

And now I've noticed my mac has been working on a new WU for 48+ minutes. Looks like I've had a few WU's finish in 3900 seconds as opposed to 400 seconds, which I'm fine with if they return valid results. The only thing that's a little irksome is the fact that the credit dishout is the same. 4.07 for a 400 second WU vs 4.07 for a 3900 second WU...
