Impatience by the project for results is not a valid reason for weird deadlines. For the life of me I can't think of a valid reason that a result would be useless on day 5 or 6, but not on day 3. And yes, there are many reasons for days of queue to be set at 10. I only have it on 1 machine out of 12 but it is necessary. Great science, no so great execution of a solution.

I am currently running MW on 6 Quads with various numbers of days of queues. They all wind up running MW at high priority. I even have a machine with 10 days of queue and it still finds it necessary to run at "High Priority". I think the solution is to lengthen the deadlines. If it is necessary to lower the queue size, so be it, but give BoincMGR at least a fighting chance. I would suggest at least 5 or 6 days. If this is not possible, then I will have to reconsider my participation here. There has to be a happy median. Please take into consideration that we run other projects along with MW. 2 or 3 days deadline is just too restrictive.

My quads go into high priority mode after completing a 6-7 hour w/u. Best case scenario, 1-2 hours with the user being able to choose the cache size (not to exceed 20). Either the user cache size or increase the deadline. Ya can't have long w/u's and short deadlines. There are other projects wanting time too.
4) Message boards : Number crunching : Problems downloading Stars and Volume files (Message 266) Posted 9 Nov 2007 by Buster Gunn Post: Stars & volume.txt downloaded and I also got about 300 w/u's to run, which I did. Now NEW W/U files to download are having the same problem as Stars and volume had before. Can't find file. I've aborted the downloads because they just keep trying but failing. ????????????
