I read the pages associated with the link. Interesting but I am not geek enough to understand all that.

Keith Myers actually answered the question.

Is there some reason for this problem to exist without the Administrator making some change to fix it?

Given that volunteers are offering free computing to the project, which cost the volunteer some amount of money, I simply can't understand why this situation is allowed to exist.

Given that I arrived only recently to the discussion I must be missing something.
3) Message boards : Number crunching : WUs not downloaded in time - rig is idling - doing no work ... (Message 69042)

I started out with .1 and .1 cause I came from PrimeGrid where things worked as they should.

I changed them to 1 and 1 on MW@H and have had no problems.

It does download a bunch but not a problem as I can go thru them in a day or so.

No, that is not what is happening for me. I might still have 200 or 300 wus to go and it will refill to the max wus I have stipulated based on a day's work as calculated by BOINC or MW@H, I don't know which.

I do this every day.

Last night I had it fill the "bucket, so to speak" and this morning, sometime after 5 PM CST, I had it filled again and I have 350 wus in the bucket now. I just checked.

Why this isn't working for you is a puzzle I don't have an answer for.

I mostly solved the problem by changing the "Store at least days of work" and "Store up to an additional days of work" numbers which are found on Boinc/Options/Computing preferences. This change downloads 600 work units on my computer which takes a while to run.
6) Message boards : Number crunching : Difference between 2 work units? (Message 69012)
Posted 9 Sep 2019 by AT Hiker
Post:
2 work units started at the same time and both ran on GTX 970 Nvidia cards.

The wu description on card 0 is described as .....80_bundle4_4s_south4s... and completed in 238 seconds
The wu description on card 1 is described as .....14_bundle4_testing_3s4f...and completed 207 seconds
Both cards report GPU Clock Speed of 1379 and Memory Clock of 1400
Card 0 is a factory overclocked card
Card 1 is not

Can the different run rimes be the result of the difference in the work units?

So "Pending validation"

Post:
What does the term "Completed, validation inconclusive" mean.?

If I saw this in Prime Grid for example and looked at the wu I would find that 2 computers have run the wu without an error but somehow don't agree and a third computer -an rarely more than a third- would resolve the is.

So the use of the term on MW@H must mean something totally different because the wu in question has only been completed on my computer.

Thanks.

Does MW offer badges?
If so is there a thread somewhere that explains how they are awarded?

Thanks
10) Message boards : Number crunching : Exporting of stats. (Message 68857)

Does the project automatically allow the exporting of stats or do I need to opt in somewhere?
