So basically we need to remove these computers from the WU queue without running the risk of removing too many computers that had errors that were fixed quite promptly (like my 6950 spitting out a few dozen errors for a few days).

Yay, Team Norway just got the 2nd place (RAC in this project). But its not by much, now I won't dare play any games because my RAC might drop :D

(How could I not post that? :D
I guess I should say something more coherent than that. How about, Aging is seven things, one of which is the loss of cells, some of which aren't replaced by the body. This causes a series of pathologies over time, depending on where it happens. Its Parkinsons when it happens in the brain, heart-disease in the heart, etc. The treatment (rejuvenation biotechnology) is to replace the cells with stemcell therapy. After which, you will technically be younger than you were previously. The six other types are no less reversible, and you can read about it in the book that you will read cover to cover very quick: ISBN 9780312367077.

I Ponder the meaning of life, considering the possibility that at some point, we'll stop dying from aging completely (and its diseases, cancer, cardiovascular disease and all the rest which only kill elderly). Then the purpose of life will be to endlessly reinvent oneself, whereas most people would say the meaning of life now is to procreate and enjoy life until it ends. Is it not so that the meaning of life then is to save people from dying of loss of cells and the six other things, so that they can then live until it is possible to endlessly reinvent themselves?

Try to follow this! :P

Ahh, I think I know what it is, I think they load up weeks or months worth of tasks due to not having proper preferences. I'm speaking specifically about "minimum work buffer". Is 0.00 equal infinity on that? Is there a hard cap on lets say 7 days or can un-knowing people put 999999?

HD 5800s & 6900s can only crunch MW v1.02 WUs with the Cat 13.1 driver (& you need to do a 'deep' clean of previous drivers), unless you're prepared to do some messing around with the drivers, in which case read this thread http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/forum_thread.php?id=3400

It works now. I put it to work doing only "Milkyway@Home Separation (Modified Fit) v1.34 (opencl_ati_101)" WUs. Not going to mess with it now, just going to leave it alone and not break it.
7) Message boards : Number crunching : Value of all GPUs on used market? (Message 62458)
Posted 3 Oct 2014 by ronnyhugo
Post:
I'm considering gathering up the performance of all GPUs in all the projects and then add modifiers and do some math to figure out what their values are in currency. Then with the fact that 2 cards of 1X total performance is more expensive than having 1 card with 1X total performance (you might have to put the two cards in two machines, unless you buy a dual PCI-e motherboard with comparable PSU). Also power use, remaining warranty and its effect on price, remaining lifetime on the fans, etc etc etc.

Would anyone be interested in this data? Could you help? I need the performance data of the cards that actually do perform (not for example R5 210). In each of the projects that they can be used in. The theoretical performance I can get a hold of easy (there's lists on wikipedia).

Actually, it still fails the "MilkyWay@Home v1.02 (opencl_amd_ati)" tasks. I've changed that machine to "work" and made so that the "work" group don't download those tasks, but it refused to play ball the first time I tried. What do I have to write in the local xml file to get it to stop this nonsense? Every time it downloads the "MilkyWay@Home v1.02 (opencl_amd_ati)" tasks it fails them and then it stops getting WUs due to failure rate.

The "suspended by user" and "resumed by user" is me attempting to fix the problem by turning off AMD overdrive, but the GPU just rip through the 3 WUs I'm sent in barely 20 seconds in total and get computation error on all of them.

yeah I dropped that application completely for now (I'd normally not care and just run them until they fix it, but I'm benchmarking to see whether I should buy a couple more 7970/280x).

Milestone: After a prolonged stop, I've begun to crunch again.

I realized I had the perfect GPU for it (7970) so might as well use it. Now to figure out a way to make the computer silent so I can keep this up over the winter (I live in a part of the world where a couple crunching computers can't heat the whole house, so I still need ovens to make up the difference, for now).
