We just swapped the server to start using php5 (it had been using php4 since the code update).

I'm thinking this might fix the problems, let me know if it worked.

Still broke. Unable to save any changes preferences or user profile.

I try really hard to "sit on my hands" and stay out of these discussions but…

...for no other reason than to grossly enrich his & his Teams own position's on the Projects Stats Leader Boards & also inflate his & their Credit Ego's...
Yes more than a couple of our members place a high value on the credit they are granted for work they do on the various BOINC projects so I guess you could say they have "Credit Ego’s". Credit and their position in the statistics is pretty much the only reward they get for spending thousands of dollars every year for new hardware and the electricity to keep all their machines running, machines which serve no other purpose than running BOINC. It would appear YOU also have a rather large "Credit Ego" or you wouldn’t be complaining about the time it takes Crunch3r’s machine to complete a work unit.

You are pretty free with the term "cheating". If Crunch3r is returning valid results and receiving the same credit for work units as others how is he "cheating"? Yes, he has a talent at optimizing and compiling code which I and apparently you do not have. So what? There is nothing stopping you or I from learning to write and compile code and creating our own optimized applications.

The code for the Milkyway application is open source, Crunch3r has made improvements to the original code and the project managers implemented his application on the production site as the default app. Thanks to his work we are all now processing work faster for the project.

He is now running an application that includes additional optimizations that appear to have greatly decreased the time it takes to process the work. He says these new optimizations “were presented to the Dev team several months ago”, I’ll take him at his word.

As far as "his Team", to the best of my knowledge Crunch3r has not shared this code with anyone besides the Milkyway Development Team, the application has not been made available even to his teammates.

Hi fellow crunchers

On March 24, 2005 Team SETI.USA was created to consolidate United States users and become the #1 SETI Team in the world. This goal was achieved within 24 months of inception thanks to the extraordinary efforts of our dedicated membership. To parlay that effort, and for the benefit of all BOINC distributed computing projects, Team SETI.USA’s commitment to extend beyond a single project has begun. SETI.USA is now BOINCing the world! As of September 19, 2007 we reached our second goal of becoming the #1 team in overall BOINC. We are now working on taking #1 in other BOINC projects. Join with us as we boldly go where no team has gone before!

We are a very active and fun loving team and offer the following to our members:
