1) Message boards : News : Windows Users-please abort Nbody tasks (Message 63642) Posted 28 May 2015 by aD Post: Hi - just thought I'd post here to say I had wondered about the Windows N-body tasks but just left them be, as I prefer leave BOINC to do its thing without being interrupted. If there was a Notice posted about aborting tasks I would have done so; you may wish to consider this to save others from using CPU time they don't need to. Thanks for your continued hard work to help us crunch your numbers!
2) Message boards : News : update for users not getting CPU workunits (Message 58958) Posted 18 Jun 2013 by aD Post: Rick - part of the volunteer process is helping the team through times of problems, as well as when the project is running smoothly. It's possible that you haven't got any work units because of a problem that affects others as well - so it's important for you to stick around to help the devs correlate symptoms and work towards a fix. If you'd like to participate in other astronomy-related BOINC projects whilst you're waiting, take a look at theSkyNetPOGS.

I appreciate how difficult it is to get to grips with a project when it has been worked on by other people, with little documentation and with team mates who aren't always able to help. Despite all this you'll get the problems fixed and everyone (or most of them) will be happy again :-)
4) Message boards : News : added applications for ati only GPUs (Message 58693) Posted 11 Jun 2013 by aD Post: I have an ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro on one machine and an nVidia Quadro FX 570M on another and am getting the GPU work units but they're failing after a few seconds as the card isn't very good at mathematics :-) Example reports: http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/result.php?resultid=497782274 http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/result.php?resultid=497789395 I've disabled receiving GPU units now - I'm not sure if you're able to prevent particular cards getting GPU work units but these cards certainly don't work!
