HD 57x0 series missing Double Precision is kind of shame.
I asked AMD about it and there is answer:
Double precision floating point operations are not required for any known or anticipated GPU compute applications for consumers (i.e. gaming, multimedia, and productivity), where single precision processing is sufficient. Implementing high performance DP FP processing in hardware carries significant costs in terms of die size and power consumption, and wouldn’t provide any value to the vast majority of our customers. This is the main reason why all of the companies who participated in the definition of the new industry standard OpenCL and DirectCompute APIs agreed to make this an optional feature.

That being said, there are some high performance computing applications in the scientific or industrial fields where double precision can be beneficial, so we chose to include that capability in our most powerful GPUs to provide an attractive solution for those markets as well.

Stripes are not my problem anymore, motherboard bios update did do the trick.

But still comp freezes when I suspend milky.

Just did go backwards and installed cat 9.12(not hotfix), see how it does.

Hi!
Anyone else suffering from same issue?

Windows 7 x64 is my OS.

Motherboard is Gigabyte GA-EX58 Extreme, with latest bios. Drivers are Catalyst 10.1 beta as 9.12 hotfix did cause vertical stripes.

I changed to Cat 9.5 and now it works a little better, not properly tough...
It starts calculating with both cards and does that for few minutes, then everything freezes and it takes few minutes and computer is responding again.

It keeps doing that for an half an hour and then it stops using another card.

I have been trying to get that GPU thing to work for few days. Now it does, kind of....

Calulates very fast but very soon diplay driver stops responding and screen freezes for some minutes and then BOINC resumes computing with CPU only.

OS is Vista X64 and driver is Cat 9.6.
Cards are 2x HD4890.
