It's because of the 3 day deadline for this project. Boinc automatically puts them into high-prioroty. It will run them for awhile and eventually switch projects.
It could help if you looked through the other posts. This has been covered numerous times.

At this moment , BOINC is running four tasks for two projects.
2 tasks for SETI due date 8/12/09 (finished waiting for upload) & 8/13/09 (45%) complete)...
2 tasks for Climate prediction due dates 7/10/2010 & 7/11/2010 - one year away!!

Boinc on this system is set to swap tasks every 60 minutes.

So there is plenty of time to complete Milkyway tasks within the 3 day deadline = as I have proved by suspending all tasks just to get milkyway downloads *and* completing them within the time frame without impacting the other tasks....

Reading previous posts does not solve the reality....

Milkyway doesn't seem to be aware that Boinc can task share...
With SETU and Climateprediction runninhg, Milkyway says there's not enough compute time available and won't finish in time, so--- no new task.

Suspend SETI and Climateprediction and I get a work unit.
Resume all tasks and they always all complete well within their respective timeframes.

Only Milkyway has this problem... It doesn't seem to understand the concept of time-share multi-tasking. It's either being greedy about wanting CPU time or it's being stupid

BTW --- I've had over 20 years of writing and supporting large-scale real-time scientific systems, so please don't insult me by assuming I have no experience with multi-tasking real-time operation.

I am a simple man with a simple mind!!
My area of expertise is RF communications and IT Security...
My knowledge Of Astronomy is the usual basics, major constellations, galaxies and our planetary system, etc., Finis!
The terms are there, I have read the dissertation and I am still no wiser as to what my "chunk" of work is achieving...
I was hoping for an "Idiots Guide to Milkyway" for contributors!!

I may not get one...

There are some pretty pictures (read 'plots') on the home page using pretty colours...
Perhaps it would be possible to include a legend so that I don't have to guess if they're represent Oranges and Apples or Yin and Yang...

A most important lesson I learnt in Middle School Math was to label the axes and to identify the plot symbols.

Thanks..
