21) Message boards : Number crunching : What is current application (Message 43375)

Please forgive a simple question from a set-and-forget user.

I see a lot of talk here about 0.21 applications, and nbody applications. I appear to be running MilkyWay 0.19 only. Is there any benefit to getting later versions, and if so, how is it done?
22) Message boards : News : Increased WU Deadline (Message 36134)

This new deadline is working great for me (CPUs only). Before, MW would send BOINC into panic mode as soon as WUs arrived, and screw up debt with my other projects, and stop them from downloading new work. Then one or more other projects would go into panic mode, and downloads and debt would become very messy. Now, MW takes its turn, very nicely, just like all the other projects. Downloads from all projects are occuring on a much more regular basis.
23) Message boards : Number crunching : WU's won't finish in time (Message 30409)

I was receiving exactly the same messages a few weeks ago. After backing up from BOINC 6.6.36 to 6.4.7 I started to get MilkyWay WUs again.

The older BOINCs have their own problems if you are running multiple projects, like sometimes letting a project run completely out of work before requesting new work, but in the long run it keeps my CPUs busy. I read on another Forum that newer BOINCs, 6.10.x, seeem to have fixed all this, but I'll let somebody else sort out the bugs in these for a while before I change.
