1) Message boards : Number crunching : N-Body taking excessive time (Message 69235) Posted 7 Nov 2019 by Redirect Left Post: I've recently switched my account over to N-Body acceptance instead of just the other (i've now switched it off again though). One of the simulations has been stuck at 28.231%, using 12 CPUs (all threads available, basically), for now 11 and a half hours, with the remaining time going up and up the more it stalls at 28.231%. Is this expected behaviour, or has it crashed? I believe this may have been why i disabled N-Body in the past too, as it was taking far too long, on all threads, starving other tasks and projects of CPU availability. If it helps, I run the following setup Windows 10 Pro Intel i7-8700 2x GTX 1070 16GB RAM
2) Message boards : Number crunching : Will n-body ever end? 1.64 (Message 66660) Posted 21 Sep 2017 by Redirect Left Post: I'm having this error too. They start off with an estimated time of about 10 to 20 minutes, but when running, it quickly escalates to possibly 2-3 days. Until this is resolved, i've now disabled N-Body from running on my 2 systems.
