**UPDATE: ATI 58x issue resolved!

In my case, I ran out MW work and wasn't doing any for a while before it was updated, so no MW work was being processed. Also, I didn't rename the a_ati version, I removed the older version and copied this into it's place, so both files are there now. I noticed I'm still seeing some invalid work, more than I would expect. -Dave |

On my only system that has an HD58xx card, it left the old brook32.dll in place and downloaded a new version called brook32a_ati.dll, is that what should happen? This was done automatically, ie. no app_info on that machine. -Dave |

GPU Requirements [OLD]
(Message 37246)
Posted 12 Mar 2010 by dnolan Post: arkayn, what is your card running at? Mine's at 840/1100 and seems to be running around 2:21 to 2:23/WU. Ah, ok. I wasn't even using an app info. I also notice you're 64 bit, my system is 32, could that account for any of it? In any case, put the app info in place set to run 2 tasks at a time, now they seem to be in the sub 2:10 range for tasks. I may try the b1 command in a while to see how it compares. -Dave |

Collatz and MW togetther
(Message 36625)
Posted 17 Feb 2010 by dnolan Post: I don't have the other interim versions to play with - just 6.10.18 and 6.10.32. I know there is a site that collects all of them --- do you have that link handy? Boinc version archive
I run 6.10.25 on all of mine, 1 currently has 2 x HD 4770 and three have 1 x HD 4850 in them (and a 2 x GTX 260), I am using 9.12 on the 4770 system and a Win 7 4850 system, the others are using 10.1. Haven't seen your problem, but I do allow both MW and Collatz on all systems. On a couple of them, the Collatz share is really low, the only thing I've anecdotally noticed is that it doesn't seem to respect resource share, but when it's doing too much Collatz, the MW cache is full. Good luck! -Dave |

Second GPU not being seen by Boinc
(Message 32877)
Posted 29 Oct 2009 by dnolan Post: Well, I got both cards working in a single machine, but I did it slightly differently this time. I took the card out of the original machine (XP 32, CAT 8.12) and moved it into the machine I had put the second card into (Vista 64, CAT 8.12) and that machine sees it and it's seen by Boinc in that machine, too... I'm not sure why, maybe the 64 bit version of the driver works better, or the OS somehow does? In any case, thanks for all the help! -Dave |

Second GPU not being seen by Boinc
(Message 32855)
Posted 28 Oct 2009 by dnolan Post: Tried it hooked to my KVM, that didn't work, so I tried making a couple of dummies, but my local Radio Shack only had 47 and 100 ohm resistors, made one of each, but not sure if they'll work correctly or not, since I've seen 68 and 75 ohm on other sites... -Dave [Edit] I should also note that I don't have a crossfire bridge installed, I'm hoping that's not necessary... |

Second GPU not being seen by Boinc
(Message 32851)
Posted 28 Oct 2009 by dnolan Post: Ok, tried searching for a solution to this with Google, not really seeing anything, so here's the issue: When I start Boinc, it only sees 1 GPU, but there are 2 in the machine. This is using 6.10.15 with ATI Catalyst 8.12, both are HD 4850s. In Catalyst, it shows the second card as disabled, but according to the system, it's in there and working. I can see it in device manager (Win XP SP3), I can see it with GPU-Z, and I can change the fan speed with Riva tuner for the second card and see the changes. Also, I DO have the <use_all_gpus> flag set in cc_config.xml, and I see it being read in the messages. I tried un-installing all the ATI software and only installing the device driver, but that didn't seem to do anything. Not sure where to go from here, so for now I'm going to put the card in another system... -Dave |
