If I have the optimised app and app_info file from zslip will that stop me getting the new CUDA wu that are out for NVIDEA GPU's.

They should work together okay

The app_info from zslip only affects work for ATI GPUs. The 6.*.* versions of BOINC that detect CUDA will start or stop work for CUDA, not the presence of any app_info for ATI.

Doesn't work for me. After shutting down the BOINC client and copying the optimized app and the app_info file, BOINC discarded all of my CUDA wus:

10.09.2009 13:22:49 Milkyway@home Found app_info.xml; using anonymous platform
10.09.2009 13:22:49 Milkyway@home [error] No application found for task: windows_intelx86 20 cuda23; discarding

Then it started to download CPU wus only - never got any CUDA wu.

My best guess is that one would need an app_info file with entries for the optimized CPU app and the CUDA app as well. Any help with that would be appreciated.

I noticed that no progress bar is showing with the new application version from Aug 30. Everythings else - credit, runtime etc - is the same as with the old version.

Anyone else noticing the same behaviour?

I'm having trouble with my nVidia crashing with computation errors on GPUgrid.

You ain't the only one !!

That's at least two of us ready to crash-test MW CUDA.

Make that 3 of us, I need to run a stable project like MW on my 9500 GT.
;-p

I started crunching GPUgrid last week with a GTX 260 and ended up with computation errors on every single WU. Then i switched to an older nVidia driver (181.22) and - bingo : everything is running smoothly now. So i think it's a driver issue with all 3 of you.

Of course i will crunch for MW as soon as the CUDA app is out and running.
I'm really looking forward to it ...

These "invalid" ps_sgr_210F5_s3 WUs are beginning to suck.

Why aren't the admins capable of cancelling that group or correcting their validation algorithm?

For my part i will abort them if i'll get them ...

I downloaded and installed the SSE3 app: it's working fast as hell.

Many thanks to P3D. You are doing a great job!

Well, NetMonitoring was running the app on a Windows XP machine
according to the Computer entry of the task id.

Obviously there *is* a faster app for XP out somewhere ...

Is there a new faster application available?

I've found by accident that user NetMonitoring is delivering results with a runtime of 400 seconds each.
Task info shows he's running application version 0.71.
Official application version is 0.07.

Anyone any idea where to get this faster app?
