1) Message boards : Number crunching : annoying pop-up (Message 48646)

Hmmm...

Are you guys talking about the balloon which pops up from the tray icon?

If so, I agree it's customary in decent apps to be able to disable features like that if you want.

I was able to get rid of the balloons by going to Tools, Display and network options and changing the notice reminder interval to Never.

I complained to AMD About a week ago. The more compaints they get the better chance that they will fix it.

I don't know if it's big news. But we're using BOINC's default credit system now, so things are definitely different.

Right now I'm just using it on the n-body application, as credit values for it are pretty difficult to calculate. I'm going to start testing it with the other application however -- but just to calculate the values initially (we'll still be using fixed credit), so I can compare how close BOINC's default estimated credit gets to what we're awarding with fixed credit. If we can get them close enough, I'll probably do the swap for the main application as well.

Travis, If it is anything like the credit system they had a few months ago it will be bad news. The projects that I have seen that tried to use it the Credits dropped drasticly. Aqua credit dropped 90%. they had to abanden them and go back to their on system to prevent a mass exodus.

Another single GPU. Its looking more and more like 11.4 doesnt like dealing with two or more GPUs in a box.

Its possible I guess that its the MW application reacting against 11.4, but that would be somewhat far fetched. Looks more like the old dual gpu hassle has re-emerged. The only thing we can do is avoid 11.4 (Production set) if using two or more GPUs.

None of my boxes will work with 11.4 eather. They made some major changes with open GL. I don't know if that is causing the problem or not.

In the mean time I'll have to stick with 11.3 also.

I'll try it and see what happens. This might be a better place to find it for most people though.

The problem is that when MW has work again, Collatz ignores it and carries on hogging everything,

Only for the 1 WU that's running at the moment (if you have project priority set to 0).

Beyond, thats not true. I have mine set at 0 for colatz and get about 8 hours work from them when MW runs out. It will not switch back to MW until Colatz WUs run out.

That is not a Cat 10.3 problem. It's the new Wu's that MW has put up. Everyone has that problem and the longer Wu's don't pay any better.
