1) Message boards : News : New Nbody version 1.46 (Message 62895)

de_nbody_12_20_orphan_sim_2_1413455402_1485127_0
now up to 51+ hours, apparently most of that apparently after reaching 100% complete (I haven't checked every day, unfortunately). Similar jobs (de_nbody with the same 10-digit serial number) are listed as requiring ~1 hour to complete.

I will abort this job, and hope the problem is fixed in the near future. I have had similar problems before, but hoped the new version 1.46 had fixed them.

BTW it would help to show the specific job failing if one could copy and paste from the BOINC Tasks listing, which I was unable to do.

Best regards
Pete

2) Message boards : News : Separation Modified Fit v1.28 Release (Message 60130)
Posted 8 Oct 2013 by Peter
Post:
Modfit 1.28 generates "computation error" immediately. 4 data sets downloaded this afternoon; all quit immediately. Also have had similar results in the past week or so. Running Win XP all updates, Core2 Duo. Also running Rosetta and Seti with few/no problems.

For now will remove Modfit from list of problem types accepted.
3) Message boards : News : update for users not getting CPU workunits (Message 58931)

Well,I guess I got my wish. I just received, on June 17 2:35 P.M. CDT,
a job that says it will take 1360 hours on an Intel I5-3570 under Windows 8 64-bit (different machine), and is due on June 29!

1360 hours is ~57 days!!!

Soemone's scheduling algorithm needs an attitude adjustment!

Thanks for reading.

No new CPU (Windows 32-bit) work units received since June 10. Problem supposedly fixed on June 13, but apparently not! What is the status of fix?

Thank you, Werkstatt. That (upgrading to 6.12.33) seems to have solved the problem (at least so far!).
I just wonder what the glitch was.

Still having the same problem with MW@Home: Requests for additional disk space (14 MB, 50 MB) are refused, even though BOINC itself shows 17.6 GB (not MB) free of the 20 GB allocated to BOINC. The exact message is

6/26/2011 10:19:42 PM | Milkyway@home | Message from server: MilkyWay@Home N-Body Simulation needs 50.00MB more disk space. You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 50.00 MB.
6/26/2011 10:19:42 PM | Milkyway@home | Message from server: MilkyWay@Home needs 14.31MB more disk space. You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 14.31 MB.

Is this message from MW or from BOINC?

The message above repeats once. MW continues to run

6/27/2011 5:00:01 PM | Milkyway@home | Computation for task de_separation_13_3s_fix10_2_1064204_1309061798_0 finished

but perhaps on only a limited number of tasks.

Does anyone else see similar messages?

Thanks.

Pete

Are you certain that it does not say leave at least 20GB free on disk?

If this is a dedicated drive for nothing but BOINC, change the option to only keep 1GB free instead.

NO. It is not a dedicated disk for Boinc. There is another 120 GB currently unused. Please note that BOINC knows about the space:

My disk tab on BOINC v.6.12.26 (x64) says 2.60GB allocated, 17.40 GB available.

I have allocated 20 GB of disk space on the machine running MW@home (an Intel i5 running win7-64), but received a message that requests for 14 and for 50 MB were not possible to satisfy. My disk tab on BOINC v.6.12.26 (x64) says 2.60GB allocated, 17.40 GB available.

I am running MW@home, Climate Prediction by the BBC (the main disk space user), and Seti@home, which also requested more space and was refused.

Any suggestions?
