When in forums, I see this error. You have to be in a specific forum, like News or Number Crunching to see the error near the top:

Problem with adding buffer, it adds buffer for CPU and GPU and you cannot separate. Since I want my CPU not to buffer the work it is doing, the short units are causing a lot of non-work time because of the time it takes to process the finishing and downloading the next unit.

Looks like the original listing needs to be updated. Since the CUDA application is no longer used, some of the older NVidia cards that can only do OpenCL 1.0 will no longer work on this project.

I see the native CUDA application has been pulled. This card would work with that, but will not work because it cannot do above the OpenCL 1.0. There is no driver that can fix this.

Found the issue. If you set a project to 0 priority it will not download work anymore if there are other projects with a larger priority and even if those projects do not have any work. Same with CPU.

Yesterday I updated to new release 7.4.27 and now I can no longer download GPU tasks from Milkyway. I can download GPU tasks from other projects. I get the following error:

Milkyway@Home | Not requesting tasks: don't need (CPU: job cache full; NVIDIA GPU: job cache full)

There were NO GPU tasks running at the time. The system has total 8 cores with HT turned on and a GPU. It is set to run 75% CPU (6 cores), so there was cores open and no GPU tasks running. As soon as I allowed a different project to ask for GPU work it received it without issue. This problem did not occur on the previous 7.2.42 version.

So MW must be doing some odd check when work is requested that thinks I am overbooked and cannot do the work.

I want to thank the admins. Looks like you fixed the slowness issues. Was the earlier reboot to fix this issue?

I get to the account, using FF, but it takes a long time before it loads. Maybe IE is timing out before it loads.

Put another way ... if the SubsetSum project is dead just Retire it and we can all go happily dancing off into the sunset. :-)

Ray

But, all I need is less than 1.5 days of work to get my 5000 hours for WUProp for SubsetSum.
