My name is Richard, 41 years of age and living in the UK.
I have been passionate about astronomy for as long as I can remember and love that it still fascinates me as much today as it did when I was a boy.
Oddly (or maybe not!) I have never been one for looking through telescopes. I much prefer reading astronomy books, especially those that explain, as much as possible ,how the universe works. Black holes are a favorite for me though I don't pretend to say I understand half of what I read!!
I work for a charity that helps those that have fallen on hard times, for what ever reason and aims to work with them to recognize their strengths and talents with the goal of getting their lives back on track and thriving rather than just surviving.
I am a passionate sci-fi fan and when not reading astronomy books will usually have some sci-fi book or two on the go. I am a big Issac Asimov fan, especially his various android series of books.
Your opinions about MilkyWay@home
As I'm keen on anything that helps to give us better insights into how the universe works then being able, even in just a small way, to help be part of that via MilkyWay@Home was a no brainer!!
