I live in Thornleigh in Australia, with my wife, three part-time children and a small, smelly and thoroughly deaf dog. I am not a mathematician, and I do not live in Western Australia.
Your opinions about MilkyWay@home
I once wrote (on a 4MHz Z80) some machine code to do f=G.m1.m2.r^-2 and display the results. The floatingpoints overflowed and the timesteps stayed constant and the vector arithmetic hurt a lot. But it could do earth+moon+sun and look like it worked.
I tried out running a copy of the Cavendish experiment.
Later, a colleague created Gravit (http://gravit.slowchop.com/) while we waited for our employer to evaporate - and it displayed really pretty pictures.
And now I am here.
