Good afternoon people Not sure if you can help me or not, my problem is as per title really. I have Windows Vista, cat 8.12, Boinc 6.6.38 and 71% resource share to milkyway. I can't seem to get the gpu to crunch unless I suspend all other projects. It runs fine then even if I turn the others back on until those unit are gone. It then loasds some more and hangs and. Thanks in advance for any help given. Neal Click here for The Clangers forum! |

Could be that Mw has built up a huge debt (in Boinc) and it is letting your other project run untill it equals out again. You could fix that problem by resetting Mw, by changing the file, or just leave it to sort it self out. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |

Bandit may well be right but I had the same thing a little while ago and cured it by dropping back to Boinc 6.4.7 with Cat 8.12 and setting the concurrent tasks to 2. The default 3 sometimes causes a problem. Also I see you are running the 0.19f app, try upgrading to the 0.20 version. |

Boinc 6.6.38 And therein lies your problem, methinks. Pre-6.10 versions of BOINC don't recognise CAL devices (ATI GPUs) and see MW as just another CPU project - subject to debt competition on equal terms with any other projects. Upgrade to BOINC 6.10.17, restore the COPROC section(s) from CP's original app_info.xml, and you should be laughing. |
