I've updated the assimilator/validator, and I think this will fix the issue of extra credit being awarded. We'll know in a day or two. :)

Looks like you nailed it - my summary total increments to reality now, and not 3x reality

Hmmm

Credit seems to have stabalized except for maybe the wrong reason ?

I am noticing both on the 2s and 3s WU that they are now taking 3X as long to complete. My HD5870 was finishing 2s in 91 sec and the 3s in 81 sec. It is now taking over 3 minutes to finish a 2s or 3s.

Regards

Your Core GPU Clock has kicked into 2D mode and is running at 400Mhz. That can happen after a games session typicaly as games dont need 3D mode, other reasons but thats the usual one.

Try a power down and cold restart, that should put it back to "normal"

EDIT:
Just had a look at your driver, its V1.4.635. AMD had an issue with a driver version not that long ago whereby it would kick a card into 2D mode spontaneously and run @400Mhz. Cant remember exactly which driver version that was, but the latest is V1.4.838, so yours goes back a bit, and may be the version that had the issue - pure guess but not impossible its the version you have. They quickly nailed it and its fixed now, might be worth upgrading the driver to the latest one to be sure.

The other thing I've discovered that will kick your card into 2d mode is most web based video (eg youtube); fortunately this recovers as soon as the offending tab is closed.

That is because the new Adobe Flash 10.1 has GPU acceleration of flash embedded video, you can disable it but right clicking on the video and deselecting hardware acceleration.

I could be off by 2x+ or maybe there is something else to going on, but it appears the credit issue(s) is back. I am at 400k already when my client should top off at 480-500.

Travis, you might want to check into debugging again. It seems that double crediting is back again.

I like granted credits, not given ones:)

I see this has been another 'off' day in MilkyWay land, but I've not seen any comment from anyone connected with the project regarding it.....
