Just recently upgraded my old HD4870 to a HD6970. I am eventually going to move the HD4870 into another machine (which may of may not run any BOINC projects) I'm (re)building from old parts but want to make some use of it in the meantime. Would putting both cards together in the same machine work for MW and other ATI friendly projects or am I likely to have problem? I know these two cards wont work in crossfire, atleast according to AMD documentation but I'm not bothered too much about that atm (the 6970 is plenty for most games I play). |

I had 48xx and 58xx in one machine, no problems in any project. |

I have run the 6970's with 5870's with no problems' You just can't crossfire but that won't stop you from crunching with both. |

You do have to have a monitor or a dummy plug hooked up to the 4870. Also you have to force it to run with a cc_config.xml <cc_config> <options> <use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus> </options> </cc_config> works fine in my setup, good luck. |

i'm running a 5870 and a 6870 here on mw without problems and boincmanager directs all mw wus too the 5870. and the 6870 is distributed to other projects only dnetc won't work cause the app. for the 6xxx cards don't run on the 4870. |

When I want to my HD3850 will run DNETC OK, but the output is both slow and not competitive with Collatz or Milkyway. Go away, I was asleep |
