Oh, thanks! I feel honored :)

What's next... well we need to see what the new app (longer crunching times) will look like...

There are some thoughts of using GSL for the complex math stuff but we need to see what the new code will look like and if we can use GSL for that.

Some other things that I'd like to see is an SMP app (like Folding@Home has)... there's already code for that but you know, getting all thing working and plaing ahead is a different pair of shoes ;)

EDIT
The new app for 64 bit linux should be out now already.
I think that it'll solve all issues from the prvious release. So if you're running and 64 bit linux and experience issues like a SIG 11 please let me know.

Thanks.

Do you mean GLSL? I've worked with shaders before, if only the OpenGl type, so if you could use any assistance let me know.

No. Sorry if i counfused you all with that crazy talk ... GSL is a GNU Scientific Library... GNU GSL

Well, since you're experienced with graphics etc. i'm sure we could use your help for an openGL screensaver and some fancy GFX for the app.

We might need to move to the new boinc_api_V6 to offload the gfx code to a separate app. But your offer sounds very interesting and i'm sure we'll get back to you pretty soon when new code is ready.

So stay tuned ;) And thanks for the offer, we will count on you :)

Whoa, I'm overwhelmed! Well, I hate to disappoint you but my experience is mostly with the shading language (and some ARB assembly) rather than with the rest of OpenGL. Certainly I'd like to look into it, but don't expect an expert..

PS: Your enthousiasm is rather inspiring though, might make work of this.. kinda need something new as I've been going through a rough patch emotionally.

Well first of don't feel forced to anything! I was just taking a note of your posting about GFX stuff so i thought you have some insight into that stuff.

Things like moving the app to the new boinc api v6 has some adavantages.

Some of you might know Einstein@home like they did, open up the api to get a some GFX/screensaver working, is the probably the best way to go.

Don't feel forced to do anything! as long as there's no fix for other things (not talking about the MB), we're still in a dev. phase... so all is taking it's time and no one is forced to do anything... (well except Dave...he has to manage all things that are broken :) ... LOL !! sorry buddy coud not resist :P )

Heck i don't even know if MW is Alpha or Beta anyone willing to help me out about that one ? :P

I'm pretty sure it's still in the Alpha stage officially. By the way I should've mentioned I would like to be involved in this if I can. I know a fair bit about the workings of C/C++ (as well as a basic understanding of assembly) but I'm still just a student. It's just that distributed computing is one of several fields I'd very much like to be involved in.
