Message 54303 - Posted: 3 May 2012, 16:27:11 UTC

I noticed that on my computer with 6 cores I still only crunch Milkyway on only 2 or 3, yet I have more wu's in the cue. Any suggestions how to fix this? Other projects have no problem, they use all cpu's.

Thank you.

I am having the very same issue here. Are you crunching on Mac or PC?

Well on this pc, the one with the gpu in it, you ARE crunching 1 unit at a time because you only have 1 gpu!
186399187 146811027 24 Apr 2012 | 0:35:14 UTC 2 May 2012 | 18:07:24 UTC Completed and validated 465.42 440.73 159.86 MilkyWay@Home v1.02 (opencl_nvidia)

You do seem to trying to do some cpu units too though, but there is no way to tell how many at once. But you do have 14 cpu projects in progress along with a bunch of gpu units too. In progress means they are not reported as completed yet, not the physical status of each one.

The other pc does not have a working gpu in it and seems to be crunching the cpu units just fine, but again there is no way for me to know how many at once, but you do only have 2 units in progress.

What are your cache settings for the two machines? I see you are using version 6.10.60 of Boinc, that should be fine.

Like you he is crunching using Windows. Click on someones name and then sometimes you can View their pc's, there are NO security risks in showing, or viewing, them.

Thanks for the reply. It does crunch a gpu , but only 2-3 cpu units. And it is only happening with Milkyway.

Could it be lack of system memory allowed by Boinc? Which pc are we talking about, the XP one or the Win7 one?
