Yes The HD3850 is doing MW and the NV 9500GT is doing PrimeGrid, so we are very slowly winning ... Go away, I was asleep |

That should get good output. I understand from a colleague that an HD4770 was a good cheap cruncher a few years ago. That would help you continue to win ......... Go away, I was asleep |

I think with the output of my dual Xeon, and the potential output of my dual P3 it is soon time to retire them. The dual P3 is coming up to 14 years old and the dual Xeon must be 11 now. Until then I win ......... Go away, I was asleep |

Just pick a project that has short units without a lot of fancy calculations in them, I used to use eon for that, 30 minutes per unit, small credits but easy on the cpu. I now run Malaria on my slowest pc and it is taking about 1.5 hours per unit, I run poem cpu units on the rest of my pc's. The Poem units are taking roughly 45 minutes to an hour per unit which is okay with me. Eon runs out of units alot and sometimes has other 'issues' which is why I am now with Poem, that and my oldest son has a PHD in chemistry. |

I used my B.Sc. in Chem Eng, from Bath University 1964 to 1968, before retirement, in the following industrial sectors - film coating, plastics films, wool on sheepskin tannery, shoe manufacturing, Explosives and weapon systems Ordnance, and, latterly, general technology support since 1988. I thoroughly enjoyed this line of work, particularly as an independent Consultant and R&D project Bid Writer. I would like to get back Bid Writing, but since my multiple myeloma and bone cancer, starting 18 months ago, I tire quite easily and need to pace myself. So, I am not sure whether I can produce the goods now. Still, in retirement I am WINNING ... Go away, I was asleep |

Only 30 bucks an hour seems cheap to me! Just think 'assistant' and you can tutor someone to do the work with YOUR name as the final expert. |

Another try, as my old dual Xeon shuts itself down again due to the heat (mainly affecting the HD3850 AGP slot) ... Go away, I was asleep |

Hang in there... @John Have you tried taking the side off and even perhaps blowing a fan into it? I reuse cases but recently bought a couple bigger cases, still only 20 bucks, and will be moving some of my more heat sensitive machines over to them. WINNING!!! |
