Message 22305 - Posted: 15 May 2009, 3:31:25 UTC - in response to Message 22218.

Well yes it must be some kinda program hammering the server for units reporting they don't have any but since these cards finish them in like 12 seconds or so they must get a huge amount.
The only way to stop them is to release a new application which probably will happen when the new gpu app gets released, then it will take some time before the ati cards

I have been waiting for the GPU app to help here, but news seems to be dry. My systems (all CPU based, no money for expensive video cards) can't get enough units and can go for days without getting anything. For now I have shifted my resources over to Rosetta. Hopefully when the current demand load issue is resolved then I can come back and finish my task of reaching 1 million here.

Never surrender and never give up. In the darkest hour there is always hope.

This, in combination with your signature quote, reminded me that:

I guess all anyone needs to do is post here and they will get some work, it seems to have done the trick for me. (for now, anyway...)

I don't think the scheduler can survive much longer.

We try our hardest, those of us who don't use a script to get some little bit of work.

Those who aren't using a script should get a bonus.

May I claim my bonus, please?
I have a host that got 12 WUs about 10 minutes ago.

Edit: Oops, make that 1hr and 10min!

Well....

It's going to be even harder now for a while. ;-)

I don't know if that's good news or bad, since half the backend processes either failed (bad) or got turned off (possibly good). :-)
