Tried rolling back to my tried and true 18.7.1 driver and still Errors.

What solved it was aborting all WUs and resetting the project in BOINC Manager.

Live and learn as still not sure what the issue was, but seems to be running fine now.

Anyone else getting "Computation Errors" on bundle 4 or 5 "testing" Work Units? I'm trying to figure out if my 280X is toast or what?

Hi everyone,

Stripes 84 and 85 are beginning to return invalids, as was expected. I will pull them down in a couple days when I am back in the lab.

Best,
Tom

Yes, please do as points have gone to the crapper because of all these invalids. Thanks.

Yeah, same here with the really high Invalids.

Evidently something is wrong on the project side of things. Hopefully an Admin gets in here and sees what's going on and it gets fixed soon as this is not good for us or the project.

hi, i run my radeon vii 24hours, i noticed in between WU's downloaded from servers, it took 12minutes in between WU's download, not acceptable, if i manually click "update" it downloads new WU's in less then 1minute, im not around 24hours , my 6850k idles at 190watts , it costs me approximately 40centsAUD per Kilowatt here , don't make me change projects because i don't want to , FIX ASAP please , you guys are on a salary im not

Two thing....1st is don't be such a dick. Most them are volunteers not getting paid either. 2nd is use the search function and you could habe seen whats going on easily...

200 WUs per GPU up to 600 WUs total per system could be doubled until this bug gets worked out for less idle time between fill-ups :)

I'm still trying to figure out why your running 6 WUs at once on a RX 550. Doesn't sound optimal to me for points.

Until you do find a solution, can you increase the max allowed WUs in progress at once per GPU from the current 200 (600 max) to maybe double, say 1200 max? That would at least decrease the amount of idle time per day.

Much better at 3 minutes since it won't be hammering the server with requests. As long as you let us have a nice big cache full of WUs we are all good :)

Although I'm not sure the WU download issue is fixed for GPUs like @Manfred said it is for CPUs. I still can't keep a full cache until they all run out and it downloads them all again???

And getting this alot now:
4/10/2019 11:41:58 AM | Milkyway@Home | Sending scheduler request: Requested by project.
4/10/2019 11:41:58 AM | Milkyway@Home | Reporting 9 completed tasks
4/10/2019 11:41:58 AM | Milkyway@Home | Requesting new tasks for AMD/ATI GPU
4/10/2019 11:42:10 AM | | Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
4/10/2019 11:42:10 AM | Milkyway@Home | Scheduler request failed: Failure when receiving data from the peer
4/10/2019 11:42:11 AM | | Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

Doesn't look like stats sites are making contact either, so not sure what's up.

200 computed tasks in less 10 minutes? It is not possible even for fastest machines. Very best computers with few modern powerful GPUs working in parallel dedicated to the single project of MW can do 200 tasks "only" in ~20-40 min.

Beg to differ. If I have a host with 8 RTX 2080 TI cards or similar, I can easily crunch through 200 tasks in ten minutes. There are many hosts with mining rig pedigrees that have multiple gpus. I have a minimum of 3 cards in every host.

Now that's an XtremeSystem! Just like our team likes :)

About that banner, here is what I came up with so far...

https://i.postimg.cc/qqR5svTx/Milky-Wat-home-banner.jpg

Size is 900x162. The current banner size is 900x200, but I notice it gets stretched to fit the screen. Disable/change that setting so it displays the true 1:1 size and the current banner may be ok.

But if you want to use this one instead then it's your's. If there are any changes or suggestions anyone has, please feel free to share.

Quick go at a new banner for you...

I think that is a great picture, but to me, banners are for home pages. Do we really need to see banners everywhere? I, for one, don't think so.

Most likely it's part of the Boinc website template that all the projects use. I don't think they can change certain things/layouts/requirements.

I'll try and work on a better one with the "MilkyWay@home" text and also add the Rensselaer logo as well.
