Nathan or Travis, will any results from those early batches be accepted if they arrive a few hours late?

The answer was "yes". In my case, the one that was running late by about two hours earned 260 credits. That was a lot of crunching time I didn't want to lose.

Adding to what Thunder said.....Nate has already said that Travis will increase the deadlines soon,so these short deadlines won't last long ;)

Yeah, we'll be making some changes to the deadlines and number of WUs downloaded at a time ASAP. We'll just have to deal with it until then, sorry.

G'day Travis,
There's a little trouble. When I click update sometimes it takes a while to respond and has trouble finding the server but doesn't time out. At the moment the response is:
24/06/2008 5:44:03 PM|Milkyway@home|Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Requesting 81968 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
24/06/2008 5:44:08 PM|Milkyway@home|Scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks

Cheers,

Mike

I'll check in once in a while to see how the Aussies are taking advantage of their winter weather (vcore, vcore, vcore) . So far, they seem to be doing quite well. Congrats.

Regards-Voltron

Thank you,
Although our official AA is over many team members seem to leave their computers on the last project until the next AA starts.

I've got 1 WU :-)
But more wold be nice ;)

I've also had a few work units and checked where they came from. They had timed out for another cruncher. With luck, all the ones that were still "In Progress" will be finished.

Nice to see Travis is hard at work fixing the problem. Thanks Travis.

Cheers,

Mike

Perhaps it's worthy of a front page announcement like "The project is on holidays until (date). Please come back after the break"

Wot Yoda said!

Also, is this thread the most likely place Travis will respond to the question of available work? If so, I'll subscribe then get on with other stuff.

Front page news explains all...

The front page news doesn't say the successful results can't be returned, does it? The computers have already sent back data, they just haven't reported the tasks (so no credit 8,-(). I end up with something similar to Angus.

5/03/2008 3:30:46 AM|Milkyway@home|Started upload of gs_284_1204661720_53523_0_0

5/03/2008 3:44:10 AM|Milkyway@home|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Requesting 0 seconds of work, reporting 7 completed tasks
5/03/2008 3:44:25 AM|Milkyway@home|Scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks

Will the reporting of completed tasks happen?

Cheers,

Mike

No problem, it's all good now.
